Worth the stop. With a mini Zoo, petting farm and interactive playground for the children. Best pizzas with proper melted cheese. The kind that pulls cheese strings as you pull apart the slices.
Also has a great giftshop selling vellies shoes, real leather handbags, koeksisters, biltong, fridge magnets and traditional rusks.

While staying at the River Chalets (reviewed separately), we decided to visit the Padlangs Padstal for dinner, as it was conveniently located within walking distance. After exploring what the small farmstall shop had to offer, we made our way to our table and proceeded to order. I decided to go for a burger and chips. The burger was tasty, but the chips were a bit on the average side. Something I really liked about the restaurant section of the farmstall is that they have a nice outdoor, roof-covered kids' play area, within viewing distance of the tables, as well as a mini zoo. This is great for families with kids who want to blow off some steam. Overall, although I do not think the Padlangs Padstal is a must visit, with its close proximity to the B1, it is a nice spot to stop, stretch your legs, and get something to eat at.

Padlangs Padstal is an awesome hangout in Mariental. The accommodation is excellent. The restaurant is quite good. The service is excellent and the calamari, snails and pizza dishes would rival the best. However, the chicken wings are really not to my satisfaction. They can really use a spice up. However, I would definitely recommend the restaurant and adjoining river chalet accommodation once in Mariental.

Garlic Snails
We didn't eat here, but popped in to have a look. What a gem of a place. Well-stocked farmstall, friendly owners and staff and they have a section of rescued animals that you can feed. Birds, rabbits, goats, alpacas, springbuck, etc, etc. A must-do in Mariental.
