Quirky place, lots of different sections to dine, we had a table on the waters edge with great views. Our waiter Rowen (Norwegian) was brilliant, he helped navigate us through the menu, served our cocktails promptly, and was at hand throughout the evening. The tempura prawns were top draw, they were massive and beautifully cooked it came with pickled ginger slices, wasabi paste and sweet chilli sauce, never had that combo before, but I must say it worked a treat. We had the mixed fish grill to share, tempura calamari strips that melted in your mouth, meaty fish perfectly cooked, large prawns, creamy mussels and fries, polished off with a couple of glasses of delicious house white wine. If you don’t visit this restaurant whilst passing through, you are missing a delightful experience! **Review of Oyster Bar in Mosselbay** **Menu Overview:** The Oyster Bar in Mosselbay offers a concise yet delightful menu, primarily focusing on seafood. The highlight is undoubtedly their local oysters, which are exceptionally fresh and flavorful. While their sushi is also fresh and well-prepared, the variety is somewhat limited compared to other seafood establishments in the area. **Ambiance and Seating:** Arriving at 5:30 PM without a reservation, we were pleasantly able to choose a table with a stunning outdoor view. However, by 6:00 PM, the restaurant was fully occupied, indicating its popularity. **Food Experience:** The oysters were served swiftly, showcasing their freshness. On the other hand, the sushi preparation took longer than expected. We were informed about the delay after a considerable wait, which was a bit disappointing. **Service:** The staff was consistently friendly throughout our visit. They patiently assisted numerous guests with photographs against the scenic backdrop of the bay. Additionally, they provided the Wi-Fi password upon request. **Additional Notes:** There's ample parking available in a complimentary parking lot adjacent to the restaurant. **Overall Impression:** Despite the wait for sushi, the quality of the food was high, and the service was commendable. The Oyster Bar is a must-visit for its fresh local oysters and the breathtaking view of the bay. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person R 400–450 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Oysters, not fresh! Mussels microwave defrosted with a thick white none appetising sauce. The location and setting is good. But definitely not worth the 4* rating on google. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person R 400–450 Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4
We were greeted by a lovely lady on arrival. Waiters was friendly, the service was just very slow. Nice vibe with music playing in the background and a fire place. For being an oyster place it was not great oysters. Had plain and with salmon (total 5 oysters) of which we waited more than 30 min for. Had better in Plett. It would be perfect if it’s not rainy. The restaurant is right by the sea. I highly recommend the glenhoff beer. Their medium size oyster is huge. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person R 300–350
Delicious, large oysters with a gorgeous ocean view. What more can one want.
Absolutely amazing location and that's about it. There was four of us and they brought 3 menus. When we requested another one, we were told that they don't have any. We waited more than an hour for our meal. When it arrived the mussel pot was cold, and the sauce was thick. Two of us ordered sushi and it was brought in one plate with a set of utensils and condiments for one person. We requested another plate and was offered a side plate and again no other condiments. Requested our bill as by then we just wanted to leave, and we waited about 10 minutes for it. No service, food was bad and I'm NOT sorry to say that I won't be dining there again.
