Are you ready for a multisensory, dare I say, exciting dining experience? Look no further than the hibachi tables at Osaka!
If you’ve never experienced hibachi dining, you’ll be seated as a U-shaped table that surrounds a large rectangular cooking surface. Each table seats about 10 people, and you will likely be seated with strangers. Not to worry, the place has got lots of energy, and at dinner time is quite loud. There are multiple hibachi combos including vegetarian, chicken, steak, filet mignon, and multiple kinds of seafood. Initially, especially at dinner, you may experience a little sticker shock, as most hibachi dinners range between $24 and $35 (lunchtime prices are less, and slightly smaller portions). Fried rice is an additional four dollar up-charge. Here’s why I think it’s worth it: the serving sizes are very generous, and at dinner come with soup and a small salad. We always leave with a robust take-home box or are stuffed silly. AND…
You have a chef, prepare your meal right in front of you! The chefs are very high energy, entertaining, funny, and exceptionally skilled. It really is like dinner and a show. They tell jokes, will flip vegetables directly into your mouth, make a fire volcano with onion rings (feel the heat!) and do a number of tricks with their spatulas and knives. It’s real fun.
None of this would matter much if the food wasn’t any good. Good news: the food is great! It doesn’t get any fresher than cooking surface straight to your plate. During various visits I have sampled the vegetables, chicken, steak, shrimp, and scallops. All of them are exceptionally tasty.
The decor is charming with a transformative Japanese feel in Apple Valley. As soon as you walk in the door, you forget the strip mall parking lot instantly.
Something else you should know that may or may not appeal to you: it is very loud. They definitely go for a party like atmosphere. Whenever it is someone’s announced birthday, they bring out a big ridiculous mascot head, plunk it on the birthday person and crank up some raucous birthday music, and turn on the disco lights. I’m not kidding. That actually happens. And it happens frequently. During our most recent visit, there were at least four separate birthday songs that got fired off in an hour. It’s fun, but if you’re looking for a contemplative, classy dining experience… You might have to look elsewhere.
All in all, Osaka hibachi is a loud, fun, entertaining, and delicious dining experience.

Surprisingly, we were able to quickly get hibachi places for seven on a Friday night. Energy levels were high and children (9, 11, 14) had a blast! Food was very good, and entertainment was great!
