I stumbled upon Orlando’s the first night that I arrived on St. Lucia not knowing what an incredible gem it is. I was greeted by the chef and owner, himself, and told that he would try to accommodate me although I did not have a reservation (and this was on a Friday after Valentine’s Day). Throughout the evening, I learned Orlando’s award-winning history in the culinary world and had the pleasure of enjoying a multi-course delectable cuisine. Made with love for all of his guests. There is a slogan at the entrance that embodies his establishment. You truly leave as friends. This dining experience is not to be missed. Treat yourself to a unique experience not just on St. Lucia but in the culinary world. It’s like being at the chef’s table but that’s for every guest. As an uptight New Yorker I can sometimes be hard to please but Orlando’s was the perfect place for a beautiful Caribbean meal. My wife and I spent a week in St. Lucia and wanted to get a real taste of the Caribbean. Chef Orlando knew exactly how to provide that. He doesn’t offer a menu but instead provides a unique 5 course tasting that differs from night to night. The atmosphere in his indoor/outdoor dining area somehow makes you feel far removed from the noise of town despite being right in the middle of it all. His team and himself could not be more hospitable making you feel as though you are a guest in their home. I had speared some lion fish that morning while diving and told chef about it. He invited us back the next day for a cooking class where he would use the fish to make a local dish. The cooking class was such a fun experience that allowed us to not only learn but taste some more of the chefs delicious food. He did wonders with that fish as the whole class enjoyed it. Thank you, Chef and team for a great experience. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Orlando's restaurant and cooking class in St. Lucia provided an unforgettable culinary experience! The restaurant ambiance was charming, offering a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious, showcasing the vibrant flavors of Caribbean cuisine. What truly set Orlando's apart was their cooking class. It was an immersive and educational experience, allowing us to learn from Chef Orlando and gain insights into the local culinary traditions. The hands-on approach made it fun and engaging for everyone involved. Overall, Orlando's exceeded our expectations and left us with wonderful memories. Highly recommend this unique dining and learning opportunity! Service Dine in Meal type Other Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Orlando prepared a beautiful tasting menu for each of us - three different sets of dishes for the vegetarian, fish lover, and fish hater among us. Each of the five courses was thoughtfully conceptualized and perfectly executed. This is a must if you want a fine dining experience showing off local ingredients. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
This is not the place you go to if you are hungry. It's an experience, sort of like cirque de soleil. Two options: 5 courses at $75 per person or 3 courses at $55 per person (NYC prices). Food was tasty and well presented, but not what one would expect for the cost. Ceviche type salad was nice, but tiny any Mexican restaurant does them better for less and give you more. The main dish of chicken over yam patty was just ok, but berely better than what one can get locally for less than $10 from a flavor perspective. The dessert was really good, but also tiny. The worst part was water. They told us it was excluded from the $55/person charge and brought a large plastic bottle one can get from a supermarket anywhere. The kicker is that they charged us $6 per person for that water. At checkout, after all the vat tax, service fees and credit card fees, they straight out asked for an additional tip. That was a 1st for the island. It's really not the price, and I get Orlando's is going for the experience here, but the little details do count. I would not recommend this place. First three courses were brilliant - pepper amuse bouche, pumpkin soup and mango coconut salad. The last two courses: stewed chicken and fish dishes were okay and too similar to each other to be fully appreciated. Dessert was dry spiced chocolate cake with ice cream. Service was overtaxed for the room: we were forgotten for a while and the table next to us was served a dessert centered on fruit for which they had told the server they had an allergy; I might have preferred it to the cake if given the option. Fixed menu but the chef mixed up a bit from table to table. Bill for two was a bit over $200 US with fixed menu and one $15 rum punch each. Lovely cat. What an EXPERIENCE dining at Orlando’s!!! If you are in Saint Lucia and looking for somewhere to have a special meal or an exquisite meal - BINGO… This will be the place you are looking for! The restaurant is in Soufriere; and whether you are staying nearby or not - it’s well worth the journey. Everything from the music, to the entire environment set by Chef Orlando is magical. I went with a group of friends, as we were celebrating our close friend’s bachelorette trip! Everything about the meal was made so special by Chef Orlando and his team, and the food was perfect!!! March2023: party of 2.5 Big summary: Fish was delicious that it melted in your mouth and one of the dessert plates was good but the rest needs some more work for the high prices. Mind you, many people come here but the majority is for tourists and are mostly white presenting. If you are on a budget I would recommend local food that local people eat at. Overall place is 3/5 mostly because of the fish. For some more details read below: Jamaica drink in shot glass very sweet tasted like Kool-aid distracting from its natural properties of the bitter and sour hibiscus plant, I was not a fan of this and also there was very little of it to try. The non-native cane sugar was a nice addition but also added to the sweetness aspect. 0/5 Cocktail dish in a shot glass was next on the menu and similar tastings to a mexican cocktail dish which was nice to taste again but nothing out of the ordinary just in a small version.1/5 A creamy green soup was well presented and had creamy sweet hues very savory and the texture of toasted bread with lots of butter and cream complemented the soup very well. 4/5 I do not consume pork so this was the review of my food mate: Next Pork serving in a small cup the flavoring was not bad but to her it tasted like chicken jello or meat jello which reminded her of cat food in a can. Like she said the tasting was good but the texture was not it. 3/5 I had the salad in a margarita cup and it was simple and nice but not what I would expect for the price. 2/5 Food in sauce pan had traditional Caribbean spices and sazon it was well cooked, but again nothing out of the ordinary that we had on the island. 4.5/5 No picture of the fish but this fish is to die for was very well prepared presented and would order that next time if I would come here. 5/5 Dessert in a square small plate was nice and hot reminded you of a hot brownie with creamy flavorings 4.5/5 If you do not like coconut I dont recommend the slice of pie. I personally liked the texture and the low sweetness. But the texture was too crunchy and got stuck in my teeth 3/5. The server and hosts were very forgetful and didn't communicate with the chef that I only ate sea food, I even spoke to the chef and told him that but its a hustle and I get it no biggie. Other than that the experience was nice we ate outside and ingredients were fresh! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner
