It's been a long time since my wife and I have gone to Oriental House. The last time we went there was well before they remodeled. So we decided to go back for another try. Personally I still did not see anything special about the food the orange chicken was way overdone, hard in some spots, and very chewy. The Mongolian beef barely had any beef in it but the combination fried rice was good. Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

We’ve been going here for about ten years and it is a family favorite. They have remodeled recently and it looks great! If you want authentic Chinese food with “Family Style” portions, look no further! The Dim Sum is legit and delicious and so are the main dishes. There is a lunch menu, and an Authentic Chinese menu of 88 items. Discovered the most delicious Chinese cuisine in town, especially the Hong Kong-style dishes. Don't miss out on their signature roasted duck—it's a must-try! Be prepared for a short wait during peak hours, around 5 to 10 minutes. The interior is tastefully decorated, and there's a cozy spot to enjoy some drinks. The staff is exceptionally friendly. Looking forward to my next visit! 🍽️🦆🥂" Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Overall a great experience. Wonton soup had added bonus of fresh scallions, crab rangoon one of the better ones in the area and the general Tao actually had a spicy kick to it. Definitely worth the trip. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I've been going to orient house since 1973, and this is the first time I've had a bad experience with the food. I'm not sure what's changed, but of note the egg rolls and the crab rangoon were under par from what is normally served. Granted I haven't been there in about a month or two, but I'm guessing they change suppliers and it's not for the better. The vegetable egg rolls had little to no flavor and way too much wrap, and the crab rangoon had little to no filling. Also, the homemade duck sauce which used to be completely awesome, has changed since they remodeled the restaurant. Not sure why they changed the recipe but it has absolutely almost no flavor anymore. I hope that they read this and make it changes as needed, because I do not want to stop going there, but if the food keeps going downhill it will be like every other Oriental restaurant in this city that may changes and not for the better. A lot of the good ones are no longer around. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Best Chinese food in Louisville! No one else even comes close. Their ingredients are fresh and they also have many authentic Chinese dishes. Expect longer wait times during the weekend. Update 3/24: Still excellent Chinese food. Everything is freshly made to order and no frozen vegetables. They can be busy during lunch and dinner time so if you plan on eating there plan for a wait. If you get there by 5:45 PM, you should be able to be seated without much of a wait. I haven't been here for a while, since I live a good distance away. This place is a very large step up from the average overly sweet, overly oily, Asian fast food that I generally find. I got an eggroll and chicken lo mein. They have the real, curiously hard to find, light-you-up Chinese mustard at the table. (It's so disappointing when you're expecting the real thing and get the fake stuff.) The lo mein was really good. It was full of chicken and the variety of veggies one would expect from a quality plate of lo mein. Grateful they are reopened & remodeled ! 1. I eat mostly vegetarian; therefore, I love the Buddha’s delight. 2. Try the delicious almond cookies. 3. Try the tasty egg drop soup. 4. Try the hot tea . 5. Beautiful ambiance with Chinese decor. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Our favorite Chinese restaurant! We came back today to celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversay and they made it an unforgettable experience. Our server was friendly, courteous and very attentive to our wishes. As usual we started with a pot of tea along with a bowl of mixed vegetable soup for my wife and a bowl of hot and sour soup, my favorite, for me. Then we enjoyed a plate of delicious pot stickers for an appetizer. For our main course my wife had the shrimp lo mein with mixed vegetables while I opted for the hunan duck, batter dipped and fried served with oyster sauce and delicious mixed veggies. We finished with an order of pork and shrimp dumplings (not pictured. We had those packed up to-go) and a serving of two sweet custard tarts compliments of the house for our anniversary. Altogether we had a fabulous meal (with plenty of leftovers) served by a wonderful crew in very comfortable surroundings. A+ 5 Star ratings for everything, in my book. Stop by and enjoy a dinner some time. I promise you won't be sorry Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Fried Wonton 8

Chinese vegetable soup good along with tofu entree but soup should have been served first, not at same time as dinner. Will ask to have the tofu cooked better next time. Though there were peapods in the but apparently not. Unfortunately, way noisy for patrons and employees to hear.
