Great food, but pervasively understaffed. Excessive waits for sitting, refills, orders, bills, etc. I originally thought it was a singular issue, but after multiple visits over many years post COVID, this problem is systemic and therefore by intent of management (strategy or negligence). Dining room is only quarter full but long waits to sit, etc. --does not add up. Staff never fails to apologize for being short staffed, but then makes little effort beyond that for correction of problem. Beware, they also add 18% gratuity if party is 8 or more, even if it is only your family and the service is slow. (I usually tip higher than this for good service and for cases where staff is strained by management, but having it forced on a bill for a family and not stated out loud precludes any extra from me.). absolutely terrible experience. we have gone to several other locations of On the Border and enjoyed it, but when we walked into the restaurant tonight we stood there for 10 minutes until someone finally came up to us. she was very unfriendly and mumbled something about how they are behind we can wait for her to clean a table or serve ourselves at a self serve table, and then walked away? we didn’t understand what she said so we thought she said to choose any place to sit that is clean, so we did that, and then she got shook her head, clearly annoyed, and rudely told us to wait for her. then she finally brought us to a booth and told us someone would be with us shortly. we waited 15 minutes and no one came to take our order, let alone greet us or give us the chips and salsa that all other locations give. so we had no choice but to get up and leave. there were so many dirty tables and the bathrooms were disgusting, so we were worried the food would be unhygienic. it is safe to say that i am never coming back to any On the Border restaurant ever again! The food was cold. We were served the wrong food. I asked the waiter for more napkins. I got one. The waiter definitely had no idea about the menu. The manager Olivia was super nice and very accommodating. Kudos to her!! But we won't be back. Meal type Dinner Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

My friend and I visited On the Border Mexican Grill yesterday evening and unfortunately had a disappointing experience with the waitlist management. Despite arriving and patiently waiting for 15 minutes, we found ourselves at the mercy of disorganized service. Upon arrival, we were told to wait, and the server at the desk began taking names for the wait-list. With only two parties ahead of us, we anticipated a reasonable wait time. However, before our names could be added, the initial server left to assist another customer. To our surprise, a new server took over without acknowledging the existing queue. Despite our explanation that we were next in line, she proceeded to add names of new arrivals who came after us. When we confronted her, expressing our frustration at being overlooked despite our punctual arrival, she callously dismissed our concerns without an apology or acknowledgment of the inconvenience caused. Such disregard for basic customer service and fairness left us deeply disappointed and we left the restaurant without having dinner. While we understand that mistakes can happen, the lack of accountability and empathy from the staff was truly disheartening. We value establishments that prioritize customer satisfaction and fairness in their service. Unfortunately, our experience at this place fell short of these expectations. We hope that this feedback prompts the management to reconsider their approach to customer service and ensures a more organized and equitable experience for future patrons. Service: 1

I like the food here, but it isn't very authentic. The low cost food and fresh ingredients keeps me coming back for more.. They like to burn the empanadas but the lunch prices are a good price. Ask for the Lunch Combo of 2 or 3 as this is the best deal. If you get the empanadas ask that they are not overcooked as they will taste like cardboard. The people are very nice and lots of fun! We have been at this restaurant multiple times, even though this location is 40 minutes from our house. It had great food and service. But off late it has become worse. Food is not good anymore. Last night we were there appetizers were good but main course and drinks were below average. On top of that we saw a mouse running around in the serving area. When we informed the waitress, she responded with a snark comment - which made us even more mad. At least the restaurant manager was calm in accepting situation and said that they will remediate the pest situation. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Great place for the family! Service was outstanding specially Alejandro!! He was attentive and prompt as much as you’d want in your wait staff. The flight margs were delicious along side the platter of apps we ordered. My 4 years old had chicken and French fries that were delicious, she even ate an entire piece of chicken. Highly recommend for a delicious meal and a welcoming atmosphere! Thanks again Alejandro! Ordered a big take out for 4 and everyone was disappointed with their meals. You pay 20$+ for a Carne Asada and you get the picture below which is not worth the value. Ordered burrito and Chimichanga and all were super salty. Guess this is why the drinks are good according to some reviews as everyone gets thirsty. Save yourself time and money and just go to Chipotle! Food: 2

Find a better place! Only reason we came here was due to it being next to our hotel. The PROS: margarita was good, app was good. The CONS: 3 entrees were ordered....a classic steak burrito (came out as a ground beef one with half of it being folded tortilla. Returned it for correct one, still half of it being the folded part of the tortilla). Tacos came out and I'm sure (by the pic) you could see why I wasn't happy with that meal. The last meal was a healthier choice chicken fajita (it didn't have rice)...not really the best looking. Asked for corn tortillas with it, the container came out, opened it up and it was flour tortillas. Told the waitress and she said they were corn, opened them up to show her and she continued to say that she grabbed them and they were flour! I'm sure from the look on my face, she decided to take them back for the correct ones. She DID come back and apologize for the mistake. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20

The restaurant was quiet because it was a holiday. It was nice a bit chilly and you may want to bring a sweater but cozy. The service was great and the food was good. While the Queso Fundido was good our normal place up in Seabrook NH is slightly better. The tacos were delicious. I would say give this place a try when you’re craving Mexican.
