Omar's Taco Bar in Waxahachie is a must-visit! The shrimp and fajita chicken tacos were seasoned to perfection, bursting with flavor. The chips and salsa complemented the meal perfectly. Sunday we went for lunch after Church!
Food was amazing as always and we had the best server, Esme! Our drinks never got empty and she took the time to let our 7 year old order his own food and talked to him for a minute! That made his day and ours!
He loves the cheeseburgers and vegetable omelettes if anyone needs a recommendation form him!

Queso
The food was really good, I highly recommend this place. The Chilaquiles Verdes were very flavorful. The spice was right on point. Lengua tacos were not greasy at all. They were delicious. We also had Pozole, and it was also good. They were very generous on the meat, the broth flavorful and tast good. The waiters were very attentive and friendly. The restaurant looks really nice.

Waxahachie needed a great bar but we didn’t need another bar with frozen food cooked in an oven or microwave. This definitely fits the bill. The sign says it all. The house margarita was fantastic! Nice little selection of draft beer. Pleasing drink menu with lots of options. Great Tex mex/taco stand food items. The salsa has a great flavor, it’s a little watery but that’s just a preference thing not a complaint. My girl and I shared a shrimp quesadilla it was just shrimp and cheese. No fajita vegetables or pico inside which would help. The shrimp needed some flavor and a good charring. But again that’s preference when you’re feeding the masses I understand flavor profiles have to be dialed down. Buddy ordered the chimichanga and it was good. Our other friends ordered the fancy queso. I think it was called cowboy queso and they said it was good. No drink complaints. We will definitely be back!

I have been here many times at this point and love this place Omar and his wife are amazing! My favorite item on the menu is the Birria Quesadillas! Omar makes a killer margarita! The house one is good. But ask him for the bearded guy special. Lol

1st time visiting and I selected this place based on TikTok influencers. Be prepared for a hard stop as soon as you walk-in because the “wait to be seated” sign is right upon your first step. The hostess looked right at me and said I’ll be right with you and walked away to go fix a table for a party of 30. Finally, a young man comes up and seat me. Once seated, my chips and hot salsa comes right away. However, it took nearly 15 minutes before a waitress asked for my drink order. This was after eyeballing her down. By the way, they sat me directly behind the party of 30…..ugh!! I ordered my food with my drink for fear that she’d never return. I ordered the Birria Taco plate (TikTok recommended). It was “okay” contrary to what the influencer recommended. It definitely was not the best I’ve ever eaten but definitely worth eating if you have a hangover (greasy, greasy)!! Chips and salsa good as long as it’s hot - terrible once cold!!! Overall……more than likely I won’t be back! Slow service, customers aren’t made to feel welcomed, it’s waaay too loud and food is mediocre (not memorable or the Best I’ve ever had). Oh by the way…….Mexican cuisine but they play nonstop country music! It was all so confusing! I’ll stick to authentic Mexican restaurants that bring the experiences of Mexico 🇲🇽.

The bar doesn't have a soda gun, so the bartenders have to go grab a can, making the wait for a Jack&Coke longer than it should be.
Went for karaoke on a Thursday night. The bar was packed, not one free stool, but we were able to sit at a booth. The food was decent and the waiter was good. The DJ was great, but the setup and area felt too small. Had to stand in one specific spot to prevent feedback, and the screen with the lyrics faces the door instead of the bar.
Went again for karaoke on a Saturday, but it had been cancelled, and had more of a night club vibe. I left, and went across the street for a drink, then watched 4 sheriff vehicles respond to a fight and a suspect that fled.
Not a bad place if you know what to expect, but not my first choice in town.

We always have an amazing time. I have lived at Red Oak for 10 years and have been waiting for a bar and food like this!! They made my New Year’s Eve an amazing time. Thank you for making an amazing place to eat good and have a great time to wind down. You and your wife are an amazing people and I wish y’all all the best. The employees are so amazing as well. Delicious food and drinks!! Friendly staff. I recommend if you came here when they first opened and had a not so great experience to try them again. We went last night and our server was very attentive and we got our food quickly. I ordered the Mexican fajitas and love the pineapple in it. Flour tortillas are handmade. Birria tacos are mouth melting!
We had a great experience on our first visit! We tried the pineapple margarita and the Paloma, both were very good (Pineapple was the favorite). For lunch we split the Bisteck A La Mexicana and the Birria Taco, both were delicious with the Birria Taco being our favorite. We sat at the bar so service and drinks were fast and friendly. Can't wait to go back and try different dishes!
