About
Good BBQ ribs, chicken melt and southern fried chicken will impress you at the first bite. Try tasty peach cobbler, bread pudding and biscuits. This place is known for great coffee or delicious ice tea. At this restaurant, you can order food as a takeaway. If you look through the guests' comments, the staff is friendly at Ole Sawmill Cafe. Professional service is something visitors like here. Many reviewers mention that prices are attractive for what you receive. There is an enjoyable atmosphere and terrific decor at this place. But people rate this spot below average on Google.

Similar setup to Cracker Barrel. You walk into a gift area before entering the low-key dining area. We had a look at the buffet and the menu. Decided to go with the buffet due to the great selection and price of $13.99 per person. There are plenty of collectibles and memorabilia on display. Very nostalgic. This place was awful. The food did not taste good at all. My teens tried the shrimp and said it tasted funny. The water tasted gross. Food was cold. Mashed potatoes tasted like boxed potatoes. Ribs were so hard we couldn’t eat them. Food was overcooked, dry and bland. Their sign says one price but they charged for the fish and ribs buffet price ($15.99) even though it was 3pm and their sign said $12.99. When my husband asked why the price difference the lady at the desk asked him “did you eat fish and ribs?” And did not honor their advertised price. We were excited to start coming here weekly, but we will not be back. We ended up paying over $80 for subpar food. Very disappointing.

Breakfast Steam buffet tables working well, but some foods could have been Hotter. Coffee good, restaurant clean, parking good. We've been here 2 or 3 time passing through to eastern states. It suited us. For a buffet price was fair. Not so bad, very surprised more people were not eating here. Plenty of tables. Few places can offer a truly authentic, down-home Southern dining experience to rival what you'll find here in Forrest City. Some of the best greens & black-eyed peas around. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Lunch or Dinner
Such a neat looking place. It's a shame the food and the service wasn't matching the quaint, old time appearance of the place. Cold food from the buffet... (including the bacon that literally just came out as I was at the buffet). It was just after 10 when I'd arrived... (maybe it was a bit more fresh earlier?). Sad... is that some folks who stop in are traveling through (like me), and in my case, in over a 1,000 mile road trip, I'd only planned 1 restaurant stop this time. (And I'd not ate a regular meal in 24 hours.) I couldn't even finish the meal... (see the last pic). *After leaving the review, attempted to share experience with the cashier, who basically ignored me, and talked over me to a coworker... (edited the "service" from a 2 ☆ to a 1.) I really like this place. I have had such good experiences here I'm always shocked to read others don't. I'll admit I don't go every day but when I travel through a few times a year I always try to stop. No matter what you are in the mood for as far as down home cooking goes, they will have it on the buffet. I think the nature of any buffet is you may have stuff that's hotter or cooler than you wish depending on how long it's been out. I've never had anything bad here. One of my favorite stops on my trips along I40 Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Went for breakfast around 7 in the morning. They have a breakfast buffet or can order from the menu. We had the buffet which had a good selection of breakfast items. I had biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, a pancake, bacon and sausage. The food was hot and tasted great. Our waitress was very attentive and made sure we had what we needed. I will definitely go back anytime I get a chance to go. Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Breakfast Buffet

The dining area has plenty of seating. Seat yourself. Sweet tea. Buffet and menus avail. Frog legs were good. Liver and onions were good. The gift store there is full of little trinkets and souvenirs owned by a sweet old couple.
