Everything was outstanding. We sat at the bar top and had some amazing sushi and ramen. The lobster ramen is not worth the price. But everything else was. Come here for some great food and drinks. It's truly close to being the best sushi restaurant in the area / out side of downtown. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
This is my first time coming here, I would say it's now my go-to ramen and sushi place. It feels like they take pride in the food they serve. The quality, the service the ambiance ties together to make it a memorable experience. Bar area was nice, spacious, and decorated with a wide variety of sake and liquor. This was our first time here, and we were unimpressed with the attentiveness and knowledge of the menu by our server. The hot sake was good. The mixed drink was obviously made by a novice tender. Two of the three rolls we ordered were fresh and solidly made. The third, the Kyle special roll, the fish on top (Blue Fin Tuna) was still so cold, it was almost icey and not enjoyable. The presentation of the food is very well done. This is possibly the single best trait of this restaurant. We will come back again and try other rolls and hopefully get a better server. update 12/19/23: came back a year later to try their sushi and was a bit disappointed. the prices also went up a bit since I last came. I got their sushi and sashimi lunch, and the fish tasted old, not fresh at all, sort of like a sour-ish taste lingering - didn't end up finishing this. their specialty rolls were alright, but a bit pricey. for friendswood it's okay, but I don't think I'd rec eating here for sushi if you can make the drive to Houston. review for some ramen below - prices incr by ~$1 since last. Jan 2023: came back for the holiday season and was surprised to find this new restaurant ! for a small town like friendswood, I'd say this place is a gem - perfect spot for dates, family dinners, or group gatherings (they have a semi-private tatami room w/ floor cushion seating). leaving an open star for when I try their sushi, but their ramen was pretty decent, maybe not my #1 favorite, but I'd return for more. we tried the shio tonkotsu ($15), sapporo miso ($15), and hakata red ($16) - was a little disappointed that the Sapporo wasn't spicy though, despite having a pepper symbol next to it (would highly suggest the hakata though). also tried their lycheetini (lychee martini $12) which tasted like a lychee soju (personally not for me, but I'll give their mules a shot next time). we were seated almost immediately for a table of 3, and our server, kaitlyn, was very kind throughout our dinner. overall impressed - fairly priced items imo for the freshness and authenticity in their creations - I would say it's the better ramen around town and excited to try their sushi ! Ocean sushi and Ocean sushi and ramen have the best fresh sushi in the area hands down. Ive been eating sushi for over 20 years in many states and restaurants within those states and Ocean is top tier. Almost like the original location but you can also order ramen. Staff is friendly and attentive. Food is always quality. Other guests can be a bit obnoxious, every time I've been other guests have been loud and disruptive but that isn't the restaurant's fault. Fantastic sushi, best you'll get in the area. It's a bit bigger on the inside than their first location but still absolutely packed with tables, the only thing I wish was different would be to have a little more space. We LOVE this place. It has a nice atmosphere, but the sushi is best! Every roll is so fresh and yummy. We have a list we get on repeat. Their lemongrass soup Is better than anywhere I have tried it. Yum! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

i love sushi i love ramen i love it all. prices were okay, the ramen is pricier than my go to place!! but i thought the sushi was good. not amazing but it was good. decent!! we got crab puffs and they were so delicious and hot. it came with a generous amount of six so it was plenty for us two. we got the shaggy roll and it was good!! i got a spicy salmon handroll in which i was expecting more of a nigiri/sashimi situation but it was more minced which i would prefer chunks instead of a glob. tasted fresh and it was not spicy at all. i did wish it was spicy and more flavorful because more chunky salmon would have been more ideal for me personally. we had shrimp shui mai and it was okay. i had a lot of shui mai before and it was warm, not exciting to be honest. it did not give me that “pop” like typical shui mai does with an explosion of flavor. tasted like shrimp. fishy and not exciting. we first decided on getting 3 different rolls for around $18 and they all tasted the exact same. we sent it back since there was absolute no difference in them, specially since they were made of different proteins. got a hot n sour soup with it and it was flavorful. hot and lots of fun different taste. i think this place was decent but it is difficult finding a genuinely good restaurant in more of a suburban area than a city. interior was beautiful and super vibey! clean everywhere with space. it did get pretty busy. would i come back? no.. i dont think this is the best sushi in town, and the food we got were 50/50. Wanted to try this place for the first time last night for take out. I was expecting the food to taste spectacular, especially with all the good ratings. The ramen had no taste too it, the pork in it was hard as a rock like it was over cooked. I got more noodles than I did broth. I couldn’t finish it cause it was that nasty. Got a crazy roll, which did not taste good either. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless they want to dine in and experience the atmosphere. Other than that the food is horrible, you can go somewhere else for the same price and have better tasting food. Let's start with when you walk in the door! Everyone is so friendly and warm. The Atmosphere is relaxing, soothing, calm. The food is no short of AMAZING! So flavorful, and FRESH! Our server Chloé was so sweet and recommended the PORK BELL BUNS, I had never had that before...Totally blown away! The Hawaii Roll if you like sweet is to die for and the Teriyaki Beef was perfection. The fried spring roll with that sauce WOW! We will definitely be back.
