My boyfriend and I discovered this place over a year ago and it has surely become one of our favorite places to dine. The food was amazing and offered a wide variety of food from the region and even offers vegetarian/vegan and gluten free options. The drinks were a nice compliment to the delicious food. We go for the food but stay for the friendly and attentive staff and atmosphere of the establishment. This restaurant should definitely be on your list of places to visit while in Chicago Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Came here not too long ago for a dinner with my partner. We ordered the tlacoyo, champulines, tlayuda, and tamal oaxaqueño de mole rojo. All of it was very flavorful, and reminded me of dishes my mom makes being from Oaxaca. The chapulines were a tad bit salty, but still very good! I’m excited to go back! We discovered this place a year ago and it has quickly become one of our favorites in the city. Personal favorites are Cornish hen with mole, the lamb shank and the red snapper in banana leaves. Their mole is very flavorful and the chicken is always cooked juice and tender. The red snapper dish highlights the original flavor of the ingredients with very light seasoning. The mushrooms and fish pairing is surprisingly good. It also comes with a rich chili paste that’s so good that I had to take the leftover home. Unlike some trendy spots, their staff know the menu inside out and are very friendly.
