While the service was slow, it's a reasonable since there were dozens of people who came in all at once after a church service (that's what I believe,) and that was my misfortune. When waited on, it was as swift and courteous as Norms usually provides. Though the building is aging, the interior is still pleasant and tidy but the aging carpets could use a deeper cleaning. Our party visited very early Saturday morning, it was surprisingly busy but not crowded at 3:00 AM, our server was cheerful, helpful and in great spirits helping to lift ours as we had a harrowing evening on the San Gabriel mountain fire roads at a repeater site. The meals were just what we needed as we recalled our long evening, food was good as usual, service was exceptional and appreciated. We ate at Norms recently. The food and service were not great. Our order was missing an item which took them another 10 minutes to bring us after the rest of our food was brought out. There was no coffee creamer either, and we couldn't get waitresses' attention, so I just grabbed some from another vacant table. The food tasted fine, but the overall experience wasn't great. We arrived and were told 5-7 minutes. 20 minutes later, we walked up and asked if we would be seated, as we were the only group on the list. They had neglected to look at their list and had forgotten that we were waiting. They had a table. They took us right to it when we asked, but obviously there was a communication error made by the hostess. The food was good. Not outstanding, but good. I ordered 2 things and was done eating the first before the second item came. The waitress checked often. The chef just wasn't making it. I think as a whole, each employee was giving a partial effort and no one employee was aiming at good service. I think the restaurant was under staffed, and the waiters didn't have the ability to give good service without stressing themselves out too much, so they just didn't try. It was twilight and quiet early morning dawn. My friend and I had pick of the place. Great location super clean and staff was warm and inviting. Our waitress was friendly and accommodating with excellent mannerisms not afraid of pulling out all of the stops.. and that is just for the ☕️ coffee. We both had the BIGGER BETTER BREAKFAST 2 sausages, 2 bacon strips🥓, 2 eggs any style, hash browns, with a choice of toast, biscuits & gravy, or pancakes anyway you like.. I'm biscuits & gravy, he's blueberry pancakes... photos enclosed. Best gravy ever I had only 1 biscuit, the rest saved for the dog who had no objections at all... an Australian Kelpie bottomless pit.. he loves all the food.. his & ours. He's lightning-fast and loves the outdoors.. As you can see the breakfasts look as beautiful as they are delicious. Absolute perfection. Coffee of course top notch.. $20 per person including tax ... $25.00 including cash tip 15%... So I endorse and highly recommend Norm's to everyone.... all meals are great I have been enjoying them all many years... I also suggest the rewards app..
