We had a lovely late afternoon lunch and must say that the location is beautiful, the music, the waiter, the drinks and of course the food. The best prawns so far. Thanks to James who made it even more enjoyable with his calm and professional approach towards us. Much love to James.

We were told about this restaurant by the locals.
We had a party of 8 and each one's meal was plated so well.
The menu options are very different to what is the usual brunch menu.
It was fabulous.
There is a great calming view if you sit outdoors.
Will definitely go back.

the restaurant is located at the edge of the peninsula so you have a great view from the terrace.
the food is super yummy, the only disadvantage is the shortage of vegetarian food in the evening.
the breakfast ist 10/10 and can only recommend it!
i would rather come back here in the morning or for tea and not for dinner, but overall the place is great and the service too!

Perfect place with a great view, sensational food and drinks and amazing service.
The staff are extremely well trained and the vibes are very positive across the board. It spills over to the guests and we really felt that.
Especially Rashieda grew on us. Such a lovely human being. She made us feel very welcome and sowed us a great time for the night.
We met her again the days after and had a lovely time.
Overall, a must visit place in knysna!

Beautiful and tranquil spot right on the lagoon. Food was delicious and would highly recommend the Nest Benedict and the Brisket open sandwich.
The service was great with a smile from every person walking past.
Already rethinking if we should move our dinner plans to here as well.

Wow, I wish there were more stars than 5. Second visit in a week. I had the Nest Benedict, with mushrooms instead of beef (they are happy to make anything vegetarian). Simply the best thing I have ever eaten for breakfast. What a harmony of tastes. Decadent. I don't want to think about the number of kilojoules (plenty), but it was undoubtedly worth it. On a grilled cheese waffle, thank you very much, nothing so ordinary as an english muffin. <sigh>
Last week I had the healthy option, the avo half, which was also delicious (while I didn't know what I was missing out on).
My daughter and I also shared a chocolate cruffin, topped with chocolate ganache. The lady at the table next to us had serious food envy as we cut it in half to expose the silky chocolate cream filling.
Service is friendly and efficient, the kitchen is quick, beverages out within 3 minutes of ordering, decor is a delight. It all just works
We will visit knysna some time this year again just for the Nest Benedict...

Nest Food Bar is a hidden gem on Thesen Island, Knysna. The restaurant overlooks the beautiful Knysna Estuary, and you simply can’t beat cocktails whilst watching the sunset on their decking. We visited Knysna as part of a two-week trip to South Africa, and we stayed in The Lofts as part of our trip. Nest Food Bar is part of the same building, so it was very easy for us to step out of our room and into Nest Food Bar for food and cocktails. It is very rare for us to eat in hotel restaurants, as we usually like going out and exploring the local area, but the food, service and setting were so good, we ended up eating there every night of our three-night stay.
The staff in the restaurant are nothing short of amazing. They were so friendly and welcoming; it was like we were part of their family. They weren’t only friendly, but very efficient and always happy to help.
The menu features a variety of small plates and dishes, from seafood to steaks, as well as a range of sharing platters. We worked our way through a variety of dishes on the menu during our three visits, and there wasn’t a single one we didn’t like - they were all fabulous. We also had a couple of breakfasts whilst staying at The Lofts, and this was equally as good. The coffee is fantastic, and the Granola Tart was stunning.
We also managed to work our way through a variety of their drinks on the cocktail menu, and they were all fantastic, however The Seabird was sensational - a real taste sensation!
The Nest is the perfect place to enjoy a meal with friends or family, with a stunning view. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the setting is simply stunning. I highly recommend Nest Food Bar to anyone looking for a great dining experience in Knysna.

Beautiful venue has great sunset 🌅 views. Lovely menu mix with excellent quality cocktails, good wine selection and delicious food. The staff are all knowledgeable and friendly. Our best dining experience in Knysna so far.

Amazing! Food, sevice and views were all excellent. We tried the pork ribs, steak, prawns, truffle chips and tentacles. All superb.
