Nasi kandar is a popular northern Malaysian dish from Penang, originally introduced by Tamil Muslim traders from India. The meal consists of steamed rice combined with an array of distinct curries, sides dishes, and gravies. The selection of curries consists of various blends of vegetables, seafood or meat. A classic Kuah Banjir (flooded gravy) rendition of Nasi Kandar, accompanied with mamak styled-sambal chicken, omelette, okra and pappadom.

Nasi kandar was alright. Ayam bawang and ayam goreng were nicely done. Kuah campur also quite good and complement the nasi and ayam, and not too hot.
The downside was the hand wash area which was dirty. They should clean it more often.

The restaurant is clean, love the interior design. Maybe the sink area can be improved a bit, the floor area is wet. And put up just a simple yet elegance face mirror for us☺️
There is an air-conditioned space which is convenience. The price is affordable for me. Not too pricey (based on my picture), easily located from the main road. Hoping they can maintain everything and improve for customers’ preferences.
Overall, I love this place.

Normally I'd skip commercialized nasi kandar outlets unless they have a generally good review but as we all know, not all reviewers are impartial nor having had an extensive experience in reviewing a particular dish. Case in point would be this outlet.
Despite the colour of the ayam bawang, it is not as intensely spiced as the colour would suggest and thus not as flavourful. The rice is on the less oily side and the curry mix is just acceptable in taste with proper viscousity though the taste is not pronounced enough to be good. Overall the nasi kandar here is just run of the mill while the price is slightly higher than par but still within Butterworth's range.
Taste factor: 5/10
Return factor: Quite a number of competitors around so they'd need to buckle up
Food is bland. Briyani looks like tomato rice. Dalca looks green and not appetising. Even the gravy the cashier charged. The premis looks clean. Toilet was clean one squat and the other sitting toilet.

I never asked for extra curry but I got banjir and I definitely love it. The tangy taste with good teh tarik and a smile strike from the cashier lady completed my dinner.

Food was OK. Daging is a bit hard. Do not have the dry sambal which was expected at Kayu. Peri is nice & crunchy.
