Although it pains me a lot to think about it, I have to be honest about what happened on our second visit here. We came by again because we liked the food on the first visit and the surroundings of the restaurant itself are very nice. On the second visit we noticed a young dog resting in the shade. When my wife went to give her some water, the little creature was first chased away by one of the younger waiters with sprays of detergent and threatening gestures, but when she came back, the men who belonged to the restaurant put the poor little creature in a plastic bag and brought it away right in front of us and other shocked guests. When we protested and told them that they shouldn't treat a living being like that, one of the men told us that this was his dog and he just wanted to bring her back home. Frankly, that's a very hard thing for us to believe. Under no circumstances will we come back to people who treat other creatures like this and we advise anyone interested not to eat here and thus financially support this cruelty to animals.

I’m giving this five stars because some clot gave it one star after they chased a dog away.
It’s a very pleasant garden cafe, very atmospheric at night, it does good coffee and cold beer (not so expensive for Khiva at 30k som), it serves food later than the mass feeding stations for tour groups, and it serves tasty salads and kebabs grilled in front of you.
What you see is what you get, and it’s fine.
