The atmosphere, service, and the presentation of the drinks and food are fantastic!!! I loved the avocado toast, too.
I would suggest other cafes though because this one was very expensive. $3.00 for a cookie when I can get one for .35 cents at other bakeries? I felt a bit taken advantage of. 🫤
I would recommend to just buy the baked goods elsewhere and stick to the lattes.

I love the time spent here.
The avocado toasts were simply delicious, as well the coffee.
They have sweet options and lemonade homemade that will try the next time for sure.

What an amazing place tucked inside the old walls right in the heart of Essaouira’s Medina!
Café L’ Esprit knows coffee. It is a real coffee specialty shop. Actually the only one I’ve ever found in my many travels through Morocco that seems to know how to pull a perfect shot of espresso and make quality coffee drinks.
Plus this one comes with a few added bonuses. They do serve a few menu items such as avocados toast made fresh on order. And some handmade pastries. On this menu is also tea. They make a delicious teapot of Moroccan Mint tea, served in the traditional style.
But they are also a book-share! Really fun to browse through a large number of books in a few different languages. And both the exterior and interior seating is set up to invite all to converse. What a great way to get to know other travelers or locals and even to visit with the staff.
I would say the biggest bonus though is the great staff running the place, day in and day out, working very hard but with smiles. Hisham is a local young man (born and raised right here and he LOVES his Essaouira!). Hisham has worked here since it’s opening almost one year ago. He makes you feel like you are long lost friend, even on your very first visit. Plus he remembers you AND your order on your next visits! Wow. That’s service. The other young man is super kind and polite. They both will warm your hearts not only with a hot cup of espresso or tea, but with their huge smiles!
Prices are good, quality is outstanding, service is impeccable! Oh and a side of adorable cats to share your seat cushion or lap make this place a MUST DO!
Thanks all. We will return over and over in our world travels. We do keep coming back to Essaouira…because of connections like this!

Lovely hidden cafe with charming decor, warm & friendly service (shout out to Ghizlane who was an absolute doll) and quality selection of coffee, teas and the like. I enjoyed my royal blend tea and apple pie. The latter was light and not too sweet, almost guilt-free.

Five stars all round for the exceptional apple tart, welcoming staff and feline friends.
The outdoor seating along the wall made me realise why I found Marrakech so uncomfortable; there is no space, nook or cranny to retreat. In addition to the calm, the cortado was the best coffee I had the whole trip.

This sweet little apple pie will definitely bring me back to Swirah at some point ✨ Highly recommended!!
Had my cappuccino coffee in the morning served by the stunning coffee maker Anwaar, then came back for the apple pie in the afternoon where sweet Gizlane made sure to double sprinkle it with cinnamon ❤️ Thank you L'esprit and the team, see you soon:)

Hidden gem in Essaouira 🤩. You’ll find this cool spot while wandering around the narrow streets. It’s lovely and staff is so friendly. It’s a bit outside the main streets and makes it so especial the quietness and authenticity. We had a nice chat with the staff which made our experience more real in this charming town.
Good coffee! Brownie was soooo delicious and homemade. Super fair prices.
Hope to go back soon

A lovely small cafe! We came back because of the good coffee and delicious pies (home made): lemon merengue, apple pie and a palmier cookie. All were very good.
They have WiFi and good books.
Cute Senegalese style coffe. Great music and interiors! The staff was friendly and could speak English and French. I whisked I could get something to eat (they just have brownies, cookies and avocado bread) but all in all a great place to stop and use your laptop

Ah this place is wonderful! I stumbled on it by accident ambling around the town. It's an excellent hybrid of Morocco and European Cafe. Superb coffee. Lovely vibe. Nice and chilled atmosphere away from the bustle of the two main streets. So so so so so so worth it.
