Waitress was to busy trying to get floor mats out because they had just opened. She seated us and took drink orders but didn't give us menu's. We grabbed them ourselves. She took our orders but when the food came out we didn't get our appetizer or one of our food orders. The other waitress had to make it correct and put in the rest of the order. We ended up splitting the first order and having to get the second one to go. What makes it worse....we were the only customers in there. Entirely missable. The Mac & Cheese is apparently their speciality…?! Overcooked and bland, I can’t imagine why. Reuben was decent. Fries saved the day. Also dug the leprechaun door by the entrance. Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

Good sports bar atmosphere with wide tables, good spacing, large tv screens and warm tones. The place certainly has an identity when you walk in. Staff are friendly enough. Here's the nitty gritty: There is no wait area. With the 20 min wait time we had there was nowhere for my husband and I to stand or sit that wasn't in the way of the host or waitress going up or down the stairs. We were tempted to go elsewhere. The reception desk is a bit long and could have made room for a least 3 or 4 chairs. About the food, a good majority of the food is marinated or fried with a possible food allergen so if you have unique food needs be prepared to ask for something to be cooked in a separate pan. Your options are still limited. It took close to 40 minutes for the food to arrive. What was ordered: Him: (1) 1/2 lb medium cooked burger with provolone cheese, mushrooms and lettuce. No tomatoes or onions. Salad side. Me: (1) same burger as his except with cheddar cheese and add sweet peppers. French fries as the side. What was observed: (1) 1/2 lb well done charred bottom (dry) burger with provolone cheese, mushrooms and lettuce. (1) 1/2 lb well done charred top and bottom (dry) burger with cheddar cheese, lettuce, and a regular chopped green pepper (uncooked) on the side of the plate. No mushrooms as requested. No sweet peppers as the menu stated as an option. I had to flag the waitress down after a few minutes of not seeing her to ask where the mushrooms were. She said she didn't know I wanted them. I asked her about the random regular pepper. She says "oh, the sweet peppers are the yellow and red, right? We don't have those."...But your menu says you do. To top it off, they were not even sautéed, just cold out the fridge. I wasn't impressed with the burger. I only ate half because I had already been waiting an hour before the food arrived but the fries were good. They weren't greasy and were light. I was a little disappointed in this place after reading the other reviews. The server was overwhelmed with people, so it probably wasn't her fault. The food came out cold. It was a little too noisy upstairs where we were seated. If I'm ever in the area again, I would try it again, as I'm willing to give them a second chance. Absolutely disappointing! The service at Mooney's Bar and Grill was a silver lining amidst the gloom. Our waitress was attentive and timed her check-ins impeccably. The real letdown, however, was the substantial $120 we shelled out for our meal, which ended up being an exercise in wastefulness as we barely made a dent in it due to the taste. Leaving the establishment, a wave of discomfort descended upon my family of four. Within a stone's throw, we found ourselves perfusivly Puking in an alleyway. It was a sight to behold as each member of my family had our moment of gastric expulsion, contributing to the alley's decor. Facing this moment we didn't hesitate to discard our scarcely touched dishes, promptly tossing them into the nearest dumpster. The indedible impression left by our nauseating ordeal lingers on. Mooney's Bar and Grill, you have gifted us an unforgettable experience, etched into our memories as a cautionary tale for generations to come. Bravo, indeed!
