Food was great, service was great, but at the bottom of the menu… “*$5 surcharge added for shared dishes” My party didn’t share any dishes, but it doesn’t feel good to eat somewhere that’s going to nickle and dime people on petty stuff like this. Puts a pin in the welcoming atmosphere. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

Love this place! It’s been a staple in the area for a long time… but the new(ish) owner has done wonders for the food quality and atmosphere!! Highly recommend the house made soups and the fried chicken. Servers are fantastic, Lindsay is a ball of sunshine as are all the other employees here! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Darry and I just had brunch a week ago and it was AWESOME. The new Chef Fernando greeted us and welcomed us to the Sunday Brunch. He is adorable. What a nice guy. He pulled up a chair and chatted with us for a few and suggested trying the lobster Benedict and steak Benedict. Excellent choices. It was incredible. The flavors were amazing. I would definitely suggest everyone to try either of them. And Thank You Montsweag for the complimentary champagne. YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME. See you next Sunday❤️ Service Dine in Meal type Brunch Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Had not been here in several years - impressive new chef and menu, excellent food and creative offerings. Main dining room is a little noisy but otherwise nice lighting. And terrific wait staff, Jewel was attentive and friendly. Will definitely return! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Salad
Our dining experience was amazing here (again)! Mussels, fish and chips (and omg those homemade style fries were to die for!), chowder, chicken tenders, tequila sunrise, local draft beer - a perfect way to enjoy the best Maine has to offer. I didn't realize they now have outside seating available as well - we'll definitely try it next time! The staff was friendly, accommodating and quick. This is definitely one of our favorite local spots! Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Clam Chowder

Montsweag, was Very Very Nice. Looking forward, to going back. The manager, all the waitress the entire staff, you could tell they enjoyed their jobs. Seating indoors, and out. Plenty of room and the food was excellent. I had the Haddock Sandwich, it was Delicious, and a very large sandwich. Gosh, thank-you guys again, for an incredible experience ❤️ we will be back. Upon our arrival we were seated quickly despite the parking lot to be quite full. Montsweag carries a rustic charm, the menu is small but a nice diversity. I had a baked Mac and cheese and my wife fish tacos, both meals were served quickly and hot. The service was friendly and the meals were good. My one negative experience was how close the tables were, at least the one we were seated at. It was close enough that when someone spilled their water it actually splashed on my wife’s foot. The other tables did appear to be as close as the one we had. This was enough to put a negative spin on an overall good experience.
Seems like an interesting place from the outside, and once you enter it’s very loud with people talking and people walking around serving food. When we arrived, they had to clean our table, as it was a busy Saturday night. The wait wasn’t long at all, and we went upstairs. It is a very different atmosphere once you arrive on the second floor, it feels like rustic chic with several light fixtures and varied paintings. We all ordered, our drinks came probably ten minutes later. Then we ordered our food and I kid you not, it took an hour and a half for our food to come. I was starving by the time it arrived. It was decent, but I was feeling slightly resentful by that time. The server tried her best and should not be blamed for this, as it was the kitchen’s fault. When she told us our food was coming it arrived approximately twenty minutes later. So overall, terrible timing with the food, but they are probably understaffed and none of this should come down as a punishment for any employees. The food however was pretty good, so come check it out on a weekday. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30
