The dog did move a tiny bit every day. But just that. This is possibly one of the most pleasant restaurants in Kampot. I can only write about the cafe/ restaurant as I didn’t stay here yet, came back almost every day of my stay in this town because of the quality of food, cakes and coffee. The staff is absolute outstanding with a very confident attitude with a sneaky sense of humour. Aka the story of the house dog. If he could get stars it would be a full house.

Really nice staff, super friendly and chatty. The atmosphere is great and the service is good. We got a semi raw burger by accident but got a new one without any trouble and it was very tasty. The beer selection is amazing! So much to choose from.
I stayed in the hostel. Everything about Monkey Republic is wonderful; warm and friendly staff, the atmosphere, the garden, DELICIOUS food, day tours offered, and affordable bus tickets. I liked how it has Yoga class offered, and environmentally concious movement going on. Also, my coffee I had here was the best coffee I had in Cambodia, and I am fussy with my coffees. Would love to come by again!

Can’t recommend this place enough! We ate here for most meals whilst in Kampot. Great breakfast menu and a real full English with Heinz beans! Brilliant coffee, smoothies and bowls and a range of beers if you fancy a drink! We also came back for dinner and had a super tasty meal. The staff are friendly and welcoming and there is also a little shop, pool table, darts board. The prices are very cheap for the quality you get! Highly reccomend!

Personally had a great experience. (both hostel and restaurant review) Rooms: Staying in the largest room I still managed to get privacy with the design, the rooms themselves are cleaned frequently and the beds are well made. My only slight grip is the open bathrooms that allow a cascade of mosquitoes in through the night. Especially as the doors can't be fully shut. Other than that, great rooms. Food: Had a few meals here, and I was honestly surprised at the quality and presentation, some very good meals here, a little pricey but very much worth the price. Service: The chonky dog was the best member of staff, greeting me and loving belly rubs, top tier service. Location: Its hard to pin point location in Kampot due to most things being spread out, but you are a short walk from the river and some medical centers, so its not bad. Overall: Great place to stay, great place to eat. - Side note they also have english breakfast teabags like pg tips, so nothing below 5* was ever going to be awarded as a brit. -

Very good hostel, room clean, food was very good and the staff are all so lovely. Only complaints I have is in the dorm (number 12) the shower was either freezing cold or literally scalding hot that it could easily burn you. This needs looking at because it’s actually unsafe and the bed was also uncomfortable.
The BEST spot for craft beer in the area!!! Staff are incredibly friendly. The area is super cute. Huge selection of beer! And you can get it to go!! The star anise Kombucha is incredible and I can only hope to be so lucky to find it again, so if you're there give it a try!!!

My three nights in this hostel were very enjoyable. The food is delicious and the staff is incredibly pleasant. Furthermore, I forgot my pricey sunglasses there, and without hesitation the personnel sent them back to my home in Phnom Penh. So trustworthy, honest and helpful people in this hostel.
Nothing to complain about in terms of rooms and service so still giving 5 stars. We enjoyed our stay. Only issue was while the dorms/hostel is very affordable, the bar and restaurant and out of a backpacker budget. Also when renting a bike, the man the hostel use is very rude and blunt, and only offered a very poor quality bike.

Stopped by on the way back from a trip to Kep. Good food, friendly and casual service and interesting activities and areas to explore. They have a guesthouse and apparently a yoga studio. They have a little gift shop and billiards along with a few boardgames.
