This place looks like a "regulars pit stop" in Iowa City. The people here seemed to be relaxed and I saw one couple who didn't even open the menu, they knew what they wanted, lol. Good sign! I ordered a baked whitefish dinner, which came with a side salad, roll, choice of potato (I ordered baked), and a vegetable, (broccoli). All was great! The hubby ordered a chef's salad, which he enjoyed very much. Both of us were stuffed when we left. They also offered dessert, but we just had no more room, lol. I stopped to eat lunch at noon on a Monday and I was seated right away and given a menu. My server came over and took my drink order and when she returned with my drink, she took my order. I went with the hot turkey along with a cup of cream of broccoli soup. She came right back with my soup, and it was really good. It was very tasty and creamy. Wonderful… Then my meal came, and it was hot turkey on a plate with mashed potatoes smothered in brown gravy. The turkey was moist and tender, and the gravy was tasty. Traveled from Omaha, NE. Comfortable diner atmosphere. Our server is very kind and attentive. The tenderloin is huge!!! My boyfriend said that it could have used some seasoning but overall fulfilling dinner. I had the turkey melt without the bacon and onions. The chili is yummy! We will definitely come back here again!

Eat at both this location and the location by Walmart, some might call it old people restaurant but this is genuine classic American cooking, from potato skins to ham and eggs to turkey melts I recommend this place as well as a huge appreciation to all staff. Great food at super awesome prices. It always feels homemade and service is very good. My absolute favorite is the chicken breast breakfast, it is amazing, although the picture better describe it. Check it out!
