OMG. They buy cooked eggs!!! They do not cook or bake anything! It's all "canned" things that look like baked goods. And Art? Fine Art? Not. I don''t know how anyone that likes food can give this place a good rating at least for breakfast. Th couches and arm chairs are wonderful to lounge in. I'll give it that. Decent espresso. It was not as amazing as I would have wanted given the quality of the coffee shop it came from. The shop has a nice layout, amazing atmosphere, and pretty darn good workers. However the espresso left a bit to be desired in strength and flavor. I had a pastrami sandwich later in the day that was…..PHENOMENAL. No complaints there. That lunch was amazing. Just wish my espresso double shot had been more inspiring. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5

First time visit yesterday. My french toast was not even room temperature. Potatoes a little too seasoned. Very good bacon but, not crisp as requested. Louder than I expected for the size. Was rather surprised at how costly it was. Very alternative staff. I won't be going back and I do not recommend this cafe. Came in to grab a two sandwiches before night shift a was in line at 2:20 an at 2:25 I go to order an I’m told the kitchen is closed. The sign on the register states the kitchen closes at 2:30 an the people right in front of me were able to order. Can’t say I’ve written many reviews an never one negative but I certainly won’t be back an won’t recommend this to the travel nurse community. Ordered two coffees (one black dark roast and one funky monkey latte) and a mountaineer breakfast sandwich with ham on a sesame bagel. The Mountaineer was, genuinely, with no exaggeration, the best breakfast sandwich I've ever eaten in my life. My husband says his coffee was the best dark roast he's had that he didn't brew himself. We will definitely be coming back here. Service Take out Meal type Breakfast Price per person $1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes The Mountaineer

Overall a decent place. The coffee is back to being as good as it used to be earlier in the year. During the months of June and July the baristas seem to have changed, with the new ones not performing up to the former standard. The pricing is ok. The coffee feels a little overpriced, but still better than what Starbucks has (although Starbucks is a better choice if you use their free refill). The meals do feel overpriced by a couple of dollars; the flavor profile is nice, but doesn't warrant the pricing. The atmosphere used to be classic and lovely, now it's more radio-esque. The music has tended to be louder, and less relaxing than in the past. I preferred the non-intrusive piano over the radio. One thing I dislike is the habit of keeping the door WIDE OPEN. It's the winter, it's cold, and I'd like to enjoy my coffee without feeling rushed to leave because the seating area is cold. They might be doing it for a reason unbeknownst to me, but it makes my experience a rather gloomy one; I'm essentially sitting outside in the cold. The customer service is lovely! As is the seating arrangement! Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast Price per person $20–30 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Bagel and Lox

This is a very nice coffe/tea/food shop right in downtown Freeport. The people there are always friendly and serve with a smile. The chai is really good and the breakfast sandwiches are filling. I'm use to the Met in north Conway and the two are not the same. But the seats are comfortable and the location is great. It's The Met! This is an amazing MUST stop in Freeport for a quick and affordable Breakfast or Lunch. Great for family and kids, plenty of indoor seating. Menu options are plentiful and they have a kids menu, as well as plenty of various drinks including great designer coffees. Make sure to try an Italian Soda and a chocolate chip muffin! I wanted to give the Met another chance since my last visit over a year ago. Friendly no wait service. Many coffee, tea, smoothie choices available. Many sweets and pastries line the way to the ordering line. Streamlined breakfast menu. I ordered the Mountaineer($6.45). Consisting of your choice of bagel, with eggs, choice of bacon, ham or sausage and topped with melted cheddar cheese. I chose a sesame seed bagel and bacon along with the eggs and cheddar. The bagel was perfectly toasted, fresh and pillowy. The bacon crispy, eggs fluffy and cheddar gooey. A very well executed breakfast sandwich. Hot, fresh and delectable. I chose a 20oz dark roast coffee, that was watery and insipid. Disappointing! I brought it up to the owner Larry, who was so nice, offering me a $10 gift card to use at another visit. Great customer service and responsible ownership. Larry did not hesitate to rectify the bad coffee situation. I really appreciated his kind gesture. Most definitely will return to the Met!! Stopped into the Met for lunch. The food was fresh and good quality. There's a reasonable menu of hot and cold sandwiches as well as some nice looking pastries. Had the Ham & Cheese Club on sliced Sourdough and would recommend it. The menu, including drinks are made to order and are delivered to a counter. The atmosphere is relaxed and the seating is very comfortable. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
