I hope it was just an off night for them because it was horrible. The Tavern Burger had a really bad aftertaste and you could tell the tater-tots were cooked in the same oil that they fried the fish in. The potato skins were burnt and I mean really burnt, and for some reason they felt that techno dance club music should be the soundtrack for the evening. My wife and I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. I will say that our waitress was super nice and the service was good, but I don’t think we’ll be going back anytime soon or at all. My recent visit to Melville Tavern was an absolute delight from start to finish. As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the host and promptly seated at a spacious table for our party of four. The ambiance was cozy with its low lighting and inviting atmosphere, setting the perfect stage for a memorable dining experience. The menu boasted an impressive array of options, making it difficult to choose just a few dishes. To start, we indulged in the mozzarella and spinach artichoke dip, both of which exceeded our expectations. The housemade mozzarella sticks were a standout, impressing us with their cheesy goodness and generous portion size. The spinach dip was equally delightful, offering a tangy freshness that left us craving more. For my main course, I opted for the blackened chicken Alfredo, and I'm so glad I did. The decision to use rigatoni pasta instead of the typical fettuccine was a stroke of genius, as it perfectly complemented the creamy Alfredo sauce and flavorful blackened chicken. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, leaving me thoroughly satisfied. From the friendly service to the delectable food, every aspect of our dining experience exceeded expectations. Whether you're craving a casual meal with friends or a special night out, this tavern is sure to impress. Be sure to try the blackened chicken Alfredo – it's an absolute must-try! Came to this place with a friend hoping to get some food and drinks. The gentleman up front told us to pick any open table because they weren’t going to be very busy. It took over 15 minutes just to get a drink menu after asking twice. When it arrived I immediately ordered a glass of white wine, the waitress read it back to me to confirm. We ordered a pizza at the same time. 15 minutes later I was go en a glass of red wine that was dropped off so quickly it spilled on the table and our server was gone before I could say a word. Five minutes later, after two different attempts to get our server’s attention were observed and ignored, we told a different person that we’d go get dinner somewhere else. Ended up walking down the street and getting much better service somewhere else. Don’t bother with Melville. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2
