Went after an event around 10pm. I got the short rib sandwich, which was pretty good as usual. We ordered french fries to share, but they were ice cold. The place seemed like it could be cleaner. No free parking. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

The food, service, and atmosphere were all as I expected on our first visit to this Mel's Drive-In while on vacation in Los Angeles. They were rather busy on the afternoon we were there, but we were seated immediately, and our server was at our table within a minute. My wife had the Meatloaf Sandwich with slaw, and I had a Double Cheeseburger with fries. (pics of both.) Wife said the sandwich was one of the better Meatloaf Sandwiches she'd had. And we travel lots. My Cheeseburger was great, but really need to give a shout out for the fries. Hot, crispy (not limp), and plenty to share. Good job, Mel's Drive-In. 5 stars for ya. We went to Mel’s Diner as tourist, just craving a good burger – but weren’t too sure it would deliver. It was one of the best Impossible burgers I have had, and the burger had alfalfa sprouts and so much flavor in the bread. It was really a delicious meal in a fun ambience if you are looking for a bit of nostalgia in LA. We did manage to get parking and were able to get in and out of the restaurant within an hour. I would highly recommend this place for a quick lunch or breakfast! The wait staff could use some work as they don’t really have great personalities, but I came for the food. "Is this the 50s? Or 2025?" This 50's theme restaurant, with on-site parking, Mel's Drive-In, has the best breakfast, lunch, and dinner in LA, especially their burgers and milkshake. On my visit, I ordered the Hollywood burger and fries paired with the Penguin Milkshake, The mouthwatering rich flavor burger tasted amazing from the first to the last bite, the taste was high quality, made with love. The service is amazing with friendly staff that welcome you and treat you like they know you, the server were very fast and attentive. Overall, the food, the staff, and the environment are the highlight of my visit.
