Well, this was the 2nd time we tried this restaurant. We were here is 2022 and the food was acceptable but the wait, and food expositing was sub par. It can happen. All restaurants have off days. So we were back in town today and because the vibe is kind of fun we decided to try it again. Big mistake. We received our text to be seated. We went to the desk and we're kind of ignored then I was direct and was told another 10-15 minutes. We already had 40 minutes invested in waiting - we should have taken it as a sign. Our server was polite. But, once again the food expediting was horrible. We had no silverware when food was served. We had to find our own ketchup. One member of the party got her burger than 20 minutes later got her tots. Over an hour from the first member of the party to the last to get their food. My husband's sandwich was a hoagie roll that was basically grilled onions and peppers and hardly any sausage. There were 7 of us. 2 checks. We were offered a single $10 off coupon for our next visit and no charge for the late, cold tots. I said how about $10 off each bill now. Which was more than a generous request on my part since both bills were $80+. We never complain about food prices. We have no issues paying for good food and service. This was our first time eating at Mellow Mushroom and let me tell you I was not disappointed!! Food was amazing hands down best pizza I've ever had. Service was great, prices are great, and if you love beer they have a lot to choose from. The server was friendly and answered all of our questions. He listened to our preferences and suggested many options. We tried one appetizer (Bruschetta ) and two types of pizzas, half & half, since we couldn't decide on one. Loved all the recommendations from servers and bartender. They were very easy to talk with and very knowledgeable. Nice to have the option to sample before ordering on tap beverages. Relaxing and pleasant atmosphere, music was at a great level to be enjoyed without interfering with conversation. Definitely will visit again. It was truly a wonderful date night place! Our waiter was very funny and efficient. Loved the batman figurine on his hat. Drinks were just strong enough to be effective but not overly alcoholic. Was there on Friday for a birthday lunch. Was my very first time there, & it is a nice restaurant with great decor on the inside. The service was nice, & we ordered pizzas & salads, both tasted good. Last time we came, in April, it wasn't busy, and had bizarre service. The bartender had a nervous breakdown and left, so finally a manager came and served us a beer. Hostess was very bland and unfriendly then , and was still there tonight, same atitude. amazing. Barkeep is still employed, handling things better on a busy night. Victoria, our server tonight was very attentive and reliable. At the end of the meal we had left half of our pizza in the form of bread, on the platter. I think the surface ratio of toppings to bread was about 50%, maybe less. We weren't looking for compensation, but felt it important to at least let them know this might be our last visit. Victoria took the plight to a supervisor, they didn't bother to come out, so Victoria got her tip for great service, and this restaurant saw the last of us. I love it here! The staff is always friendly, the food is ALWAYS good. Some complain about wait time, but I've never had a problem. I usually go right after the busy lunch time. Drinks are amazing and my favorite is the "Holy Shitake Pizza" & the spinach dip! My kids love the pretzels. They're always fresh! I always order Medium, very generous portions. Always a great time at Mellow Mushroom! They have a big menu with tons of variety, and plenty of options for dietary restrictions. They can make the pretzels vegan- but the beer cheese is a must, and save it for your crust! There are clearly marked vegetarian dishes in most menu sections, including some vegan and gluten free options as well. Our service was great! I was passing through town, and saw they had a location near the hotel. I had heard about the chain, but never had been there. Grabbed a couple pizzas to go. Service was quick, staff was friendly, and the place had the "cool" vibe they seem to try to achieve. Pizzas were good. Toppings were plentiful and seemed to be of good quality. Crust had a great flavor and was crispy on the outside and chewy on the interior. It was not cheap, but I would definitely visit this, or one of their other locations, again.
