This was my first time at mellow mushroom. I ordered a simple Hawaiian pizza. I was with a party of 12, and everyone had gotten their food in a timely manner except me. By the time I got my food, 45 minutes had went by and my friends were already done eating. When we asked about where my pizza was, we were told 5 more minutes. Another 20 minutes went by which made it an hour since I had ordered. We eventually flagged down the manager who knew my food was taking forever and did not come talk to our table. Once we got the managers attention she did not even offer to comp my food or anything and didn’t seem apologetic. My friend then said “what are you going to do for her check for this long wait” and she had rolled her eyes. If the management was more nice and approached the situation better we would have not been upset about my pizza taking forever. Once my pizza came out, I could barely eat it, it was not appetizing and did not look good. I finally then got my check comped. I’m never one to write these types of reviews but I was very disappointed in the service. Our server was great and really nice, unfortunately it was just the manager that seemed to not care. The interior of the restaurant is nice and rustic. Its a restaurant that I actively enjoy the interior of. We ordered two pizzas: the shiitake pie and the pacific rim. I subbed out the honey ham and bacon for chicken, and they did so at no extra cost. The pizzas definitely run on the pricier side, with the medium pie being $24-$25 and the large pies being $30-$31. I will say that the flavors are very good. Definitely get a pie with an aioli or some kind of dressing on it. The pacific rim was quite bland but the shiitake pie had tons of flavor. The garlic aioli that they had dressed the pizza in added a lot of flavor. Other than that, my only other comment is about the crust. The crust is significantly better than other pizza places, where the crust is dry and overly chewy. It is a garlic Parmesan crust so it has some flavor. However, the ratio of crust to pizza is off. There is far too much crust, and especially with the amount you pay per pizza, I should hope to be getting more actual topping with the pizza rather than just bread.
