We order McAlester’s every Friday night. We absolutely love it, and it’s our granddaughter’s favorite place. Aside from the amazing food and many options, the staff is wonderful!! The potato salad was bland, my baked potato was still hard, my potato soup was cold and my tea wasn't sweet enough for me. It also took almost 30 minutes to get my food as well. Love this place! Food is excellent, service is above and beyond. My wife jokingly asked for a birthday discount and they gave her a free piece of cake! They definitely earned a five star review. I love their food but it's kind of noisy. It's difficult to have a conversation while you eat. We had the potato soup and pulled pork barbecue melt. Cup of soup and half a sandwich. I just want to shout out who ever was running the store last night. What a wonderful woman. I was dinning in with my mother and our order was taking an unusual amount of time. I went and asked about it and was apologized to and assured my order would be right out, which it was. We began to eat and what I assume was the manager came over to the table and set the money for our order on the table and said we never should of had to wait that long for our food. What an amazing woman. I want to be very clear that I did NOT ask for a refund, I was not being a Karen or anything like one, she simply felt it was the right thing to do. This woman deserves a huge raise if anyone above her reads this!!! She made the bad day I was having end with a smile on my face. Thank you!! I highly recommend you check out this place! As a vegan I had a totally great experience here! Loved my veggie sandwich (minus Mayo) and veggie chili. The plate that my sandwich was served on was dirty! Rather than asking for a clean plate, I just put my sandwich on a napkin, on top of the table. I ordered the New Yorker (corned beef on Rye). We ate here for the first time since they opened last night. Our kids loved it and my husband and I really enjoyed our sandwiches. However there were 2 very long hairs in my nachos. This was very off putting and I just ate my sandwich. I really hate this because it seemed like a place we would make one of our regular spots. I'm not sure what rating to give this place. I really like their food, but twice now I've found something in my salad. First a fly, now a hair. I told Allison the manager, but she didn't seem to care and didn't do anything about it. My mom and I eat there on a regular basis, but I'm not sure if I will be spending anymore money here. I'm sad to leave this review. I wish it were better.
