Food is amazing indoors (the menu is different vs the outside patio) but outdoor the vine is more high energy and you’re right next to the water. So you can pick the vibe the best suits your mood and it’s a win win. Indoor bar does get a bit loud, especially in the winter months :) Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Great food! Our server was good but he warned us that he normally bartends and it showed. He spent more time visiting than checking on tables. The atmosphere was unique! We were seated in the heated outdoor patio which was surprisingly enjoyable. Plenty of over head heat to make the space comfortable but the cold draft coming up though the floor left your feet cold. A rug would make this space all the more enjoyable. We must have been sitting near some regulars because I observed something I have never seen. Who allows their child to have their feet on a table in a restaurant and why in the world did the staff allow this. This is not your living room! We made reservations for 16 people at 8:00. It was busy and we waited an extra 20 minutes to be seated. No big deal. We were then seated at two different tables. One for 10 people and one for six which made it very awkward since the group had to split up. We asked to move some small empty tables together so we could all sit together. They had to ask a manager. They made a huge deal about it and wouldn’t allow it even though the place was clearing out by 9:00pm. No one sat at the tables next to us. I wish they would have told us they were unwilling to accommodate us before we all drove an hour only to have a third of the group have to sit off by themselves. It’s a nice place and the food was good. There was plenty of room to move a couple tables together. Disappointed. Ordered fish and chips, but what I got was chips and fish. For the price paid, I felt cheated how little the fish was. I expected a slab or two slabs of fish (not fingers!!). Who eats so much fries anyway?? For such a crowded place where the locals hangout, I really expected more. Went here with my parents and had an order of salad with chicken strips with coconut panko breading, which was good. The other order was hamburger and again, the hamburger was rather small and the big plate had an overwhelming amount of fries. Maynards is pretty cool restaurant to dine in. Has nice view to lake Minnetonka. You may eat inside or outside. For outside you just find the table you like and waitress will find you to assist. We had great food. However avocado was not completely cooked. In addition waitress was pretty slow to bring back checkout receipt. In overall great experience and atmosphere. The waitstaff did a decent job covering all the bases being so busy. Even though it was a Wednesday, it was good to have a reservation. It would be nice if a reservation afforded a better table however. The table we got was at the front, right near the door. A horrible spot. The food was good and the variety of the menu is a positive. Parking is a mess, give yourself an extra 10 minutes. Limited menu outside, keep your expectations very low. The food is more like bar food out there. You go for the atmosphere to sit outside by the lake. Tables outside are first come first serve - we waited about 5-10 min keeping an eye out for tables to open up. Our server was exceptional and took great care of us. Once we were seated we felt “stalked” by the other patrons constantly cruising and watching us to see when we might be done eating. Still worth it - especially if you don’t get much lake time in this summer, it’s worth the drive. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
(Although our overall experience was great, I'm giving one star for service and only one overall star because for the past three weeks, they have not been able to run gift cards when people want to pay with those. We came there because we had gift cards we wanted to use. After enjoying a great meal and having an awesome waitress, we were told we couldn't pay using gift cards until they learn what's wrong and why they can't run peoples gift cards. This is an issue Maynards needs to fix immediately and not let a month go by with this problem. At a minimum, they should have a sign at the hostess stand saying they are unable to process gift cards at this time!) Maynard's is always a great place to eat and enjoy a beautiful summer day. We went there for my birthday and had an excellent experience (except for the gift card problem). The food was fantastic, the staff was great, and the atmosphere was fun. We started with the firecracker shrimp as an appetizer... and it was phenomenal. I would come back just for that! I got the chicken sandwich with waffle fries and seasoned sour cream... which I absolutely loved every bite. The other members of our party got the steak quesadilla and walleye sandwich. All of our meals were excellent. The patio/outdoor seating, as well as the bar, are first come, first serve, and if there are open seats, you can just sit down. The dining room, you must be seated by the hostess or host. We went on a Sunday at 2 p.m., but we made reservations for the dining room just in case. We were glad we did because it was very busy. We got seated right away and also had a great view of three large tv's. I recommend making a reservation, especially on the weekends. They serve Pepsi products with free refills. We don't drink alcohol, so no one in our group participated in that. The only major issue (which I addressed at the beginning, but want to write a bit more about) or downside we had was when the bill came and we were using gift cards. They informed us that for the past 3 weeks, they have not been able to run any gift cards. We were pretty shocked, and that was definitely frustrating. Our waitress did apologize, and she regretted not informing us before we ordered any food. I could understand a day or two, but this has apparently been going on for almost a month, which is something they need to get fixed as soon as possible! Maynards also has free cornhole outside. Just ask the hostess for a set of beanbags. We would love to come back, but won't until they fix the gift card issue. At 5pm on a Saturday night, we faced an already crowded lobby and were glad we had a reservation. Started with cheese curds and chicken wings, both were good but nothing special. The entrees were excellent and really made the dining experience. I was particularly impressed by the Chipotle chicken bowl -- so often the "healthy choices" on the menu are noticeably less exciting than a restaurants other options, but this bowl was visually appealing and delicious-- I definitely didn't feel deprived (although the waffle fries looked amazing!) No one had a single complaint, even the "foodie" at the table. We were members of the "Clean Plate Club," and would definitely eat here again. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
