I was staying at the hotel and decided to pick up food from Max. It was pretty busy, assuming maybe the start of the holiday season. The hostesses up front were nice enough and quickly took my order. I had planned to go to the bar and have a drink or two while I waited. While standing there, one bartender was making drinks in front of me and I just waited. He asked what I needed and I asked if he had a wine list, which he said yes. After that, he made drinks in front of me, walked by several times, but never any further acknowledgement, never any menu. Finally, a female bartender came up and got a menu for me. Unfortunately, she was so busy, she never came back. So I ended leaving the bar, never getting served, to go wait for my food. My food order was the Roasted Ginger Duck, which was actually really good and a large portion for duck. The broccolini and jasmine rice was also very good. Everything was well prepared. If I had to break up the review, I would give a 4.5 for the food, maybe 3.5 for the hostesses, and a zero for the bald bartender dude. It stinks that one bad server can mess up what was otherwise a good experience. Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

This is a well preserved hotel with the vibe of the past. Comfortable beds, clean room and the food from the restaurant was really good but the catering for the event was subpar. I would for sure stay here if I returned to the area this place makes me want to film a movie from the 70’s here. The bartenders & front desk staff were really cool. Amber is such a compassionate and hardworking waitress. One of our orders came out wrong and she immediately knew and did everything she could to make it right. The wings were incredible. The rib eye steak came out perfectly, the Halibut was delicious and the chicken piscotta linguine was okay. The creme brule was fantastic and beautifully crafted. Amber deserves a raise! A Dining Delight I stopped in to eat at Max's after a flight from California. I have been to Spokane Valley Numerous times over the years, and always wanted to check Max's out. Finally, I had the chance to as my flight got in earlier in the afternoon. I went there just a touch before 5:00 pm on a Saturday and got a seat right away. I had looked at the menu previous to my visit and know that I was going to order the Steams Manilla Clams. I started off with the soup of the day, which was a cold soup almost like gazpacho. The soup was on the light side and was a perfect starter. Max's meals come with freshly baked bread which I used to sop up that delightful last bits of soup. The Clams were served in a white wine broth, and came with two giant pieces of cheese topped crostini. The portion was much larger than I expected and although the clams are on the appetizer menu the portion size is almost a dinner entre size. The meal was fantastic and so was the service. I finally made it to Max's and do expect to return when I'm back in the area. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
FIVE STAR ESTABLISHMENT! My experiences here in ALL directions have been extremely positive. Restaurant is clean, classy, and service is EXTRAORDINARY. Lori Goode is amazing at her job and takes great care of me each time I'm here. Max at Mirabeau is a prime example of what every restaurant should be. Other area restaurants- Observe and learn.... This review was based on our Happy Hour experience in the bar. The service and food were excellent, and they have some good happy hour options. The one complaint we might have is the old and uncomfortable furniture in bar/lounge area. The furniture in this area appears to be old hotel room furniture. The low tables and couches are rather uncomfortable when trying to eat and drink. They would be smart to take it all out and put in hi-tops! Great waitress! My husband's steak was good, my burnt pork chop was not. Their sides need vast improvement, I got what looked like very old red potatoes. The Mediterranean platter was fabulous! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100 Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
Their burgers are cooked perfectly and are truly delicious. Also, their Cougar Gold Apple Salad was awesome, but gumbo soup was not great. I should have got their French onion, which they seem to be known for. Friendly service. Great place to have lunch with a friend. Picked up some takeout, as we have enjoyed the burgers here in the past. This time we added an order of mac and cheese from the kids menu, which was $10. When we got home, I saw the very small size of the mac and cheese, and then opened it to see what appeared to be day old Kraft mac and cheese from the blue box, except worse somehow. Our toddler loves all pasta, but even he wouldn't have more than a few bites. Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100 Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3
