When the pizza came out, the dough was so burnt that I genuinely thought it was made with squid ink. During our first visit last month, the overall experience and food were great, so we didn't want to make a big deal out of it. We tried to remove some burnt parts and continued eating. However, after a couple of bites and noticing clearly burnt pepperonis, we informed our server that the pizza seemed too burnt. Her response was, "That's the way it should be." I've tried hundreds of coal-fired pizzas in my life, but I've never encountered a squid-ink-burnt dough pizza before. So I don't entirely agree with her assessment. Hopefully, this was a fluke, and the server was new. We enjoyed their pizza a lot during our first visit, but honestly, this was a HUGE letdown. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

We decided to try take out pizza. The restaurant is very small... Our go to that we compare to all others, sausage and mushroom. It was very good. The toppings were really really good. Mushrooms were fresh. The tomato sauce was excellent.. not that sweet pizza sauce from a can. Sausage was good. I didnt taste any fennel, but thats not a must... the crust was cooked but definitely not crisp. The dough was tasty though just not crisp (see the pizza sagged). We tried to resurrect the crust in the air fryer without much luck. I make pizza at home on the grill so I am a little persnickity. Thursday dinner out for two. I had a tasty, dinner-sized arugula salad with manchego cheese, which would've benefited from shaved onions or tomatoes. A bit pricy. Good service, nice casual atmosphere. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Previously enjoyed Max and Leo’s Pizza at Newton Corner though now prefer Sudbury due to the draft beer offerings (Lunch and Substance – for beer enthusiasts). Both places have a similar pizza, ‘exquisite’ (Boston Globe). There is a format of walking in, waving to Joy and choosing the preferred booth. Never had to wait and once you know not to stand to be ushered; you’re fine. For consumers basing pizza on how cheap it is; this is not for you. For those that value flavor, a light char (per request), and quality ingredients - then experiment here. Reliable and valid pizza all the time, so far. Being in small town Sudbury limits numbers (thankfully not too busy for lunch). The staff are kind, considerate and informed. Joy in particular who brings it. It’s disguised as a sports bar though it is really a special pizzeria and consistently good.
This is my go to place for an easy dinner in Sudbury. Great pizza and perfectly cold beer. Comfy booths...perfect casual night out. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Newly opened and first time visit. Excellent but small draft choices. Food was delicious. Parking it seems driving by at night looks like it may be an issue. Not sure if they take reservations but if they do I would recommend it especially for weekend dinner. The restaurant is small but they did an excellent job with the renovations and has great ambiance.

Cozy, laid back pizza joint. The pizza is delicious and a lot of options for whatever you’re feeling. Fairly pricey for what you get though, around ~$20 for a lot of the pizzas, service was a little slow they seem understaffed. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50

We always drove past and it looks like a cool spot but I have a soft spot for what used to be there - Sierras. Sierras was a Mexican restaurant that had unreal chimichongas and great margaritas (Jorge was the bartender). They closed for a few reasons but I was happy this place opened. After a few years I finally gave it a shot. And have to say - was a bit disappointed. Its pretty pricey, and for what we got (cheese pizza and a bbq pizza) at 40 dollars, just expected better. The bbq was ok, had a nice flavor to be honest. But the oven was too hot and burned the bottom of the cheese pizza (see the pic) so much we really couldn't eat it. The bubbles are ok and a nice look but the bottom is a no-go. So maybe we'll give it another shot but for the price and my experience, there's much better (and cheaper) in the area. I mean look - it was inedible.
We stood by the door for few moments waiting to be seated without anyone saying a word and when we finally asked they said we can sit anywhere. After we sat down and and order we got the appetizer before utensils and napkins. Food and service was ok. They only had large sizes for pizza which I thought was strange. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100

Be honest with your customers please. I ordered a pizza for takeout and was told it would be ready in 20-25 minutes. I got there 20 minutes later and watched as no less than 8 people got there takeout. During that time I was asked 7 times what my name was and most of the times someone went back to the kitchen to look around. 30 minutes later I asked where my pizza was. A young guy, not his fault, went into the open kitchen and found it in a warmer bag. I watched him. Then he brought a lukewarm pizza to me and said they had gotten really backed up. He should have said, I am sorry that we misplaced your pizza and asked if they could make it up to me. I would have said no, but that is not the point. They misplaced my meal and didn't own it. I take care of people for a living too. Respecting and honoring them is rule #1. I would have comped the pizza personally, as I would have wanted a return customer. The pizza was actually quite good.
