The food here was impeccable. The lamb chops were rich in flavor, seasoned well and cooked just right. The meat was practically falling off the bone. The Brussel sprouts were perfectly crispy with just enough honey on that it wasn’t overly sweet. We also tired and enjoyed the lobster Mac and cheese appetizer and more. Alejandra provided wonderful customer service and recommended delicious options. The cocktail was deliciously made. I enjoyed the restaurant atmosphere with the beautiful decor, seating and large plants. Overall a wonderful restaurant that I recommend to anyone searching for exceptional dishes. I can’t wait to return to Matto Wine Bar in the future. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Recommended dishes Baby Lamb Chops

OMG the Filet Mignon is one of the best I ever had in my life. It is so flavorful and tasty that if I had a last meal then I would definitely choose this meal. I have not tried any other dish yet but will do when I get a chance. November 2023: I can no longer recommend this place. Their menu has changed to less appealing combinations which makes the overall taste and satisfaction average at best. All the pictures I posted are no longer valid. I am changing the food rating from 5 stars down to 3 Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $20–30 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

The server was adequate, he had no personality the experience was boring. The atmosphere is exciting. The food leaves a lot to be desired. The pizza is more like flat bread. The Calabrese pizza was so sweet it was inedible!!! The second pizza had little to no hot oil, total disappointment ! New Haven pizza still can’t be beat. Will return and try an entree because the appetizer we had was very good. I don’t usually give a restaurant a second try but I feel this one deserves it! I dont like leaving negative reviews but we came here with a group of friends for a birthday. Unfortunately, it wasn't the best food I have had here. Calamari wasn't great, over crispy for me. The octopus was burnt. I ordered the eggplant parm dinner. The eggplant was super thin. Cut like deli meat, and the sauce was way too sweet. I would never order that again. Sad. A friend ordered the plain cheese pizza, and they said it tasted like Ellios frozen pizza. No favor at all. The portions are ok. It's a nice place but watch what you order. I've had better so we won't be here again. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4
This restaurant offers great, delicious food, but a couple of points were less than optimum. The noise level increased as the night went on, making conversation challenging. Notably, they lack a dessert menu, but the seafood pasta and lamb appetizer were outstanding highlights. As a couple from out of town we couldn’t of been happier with the entire staff. Food was amazing , atmosphere great and we had the best rehearsal dinner with our friends and family. Thank you Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Probably picked the wrong night to try this restaurant. Staff was lovely but they were definitely understaffed for tonight. There were 3 very large parties (20) and at least 1 of 10. We ended up sitting in a bar booth. Comfy but not the experience we were looking for. Food was ok. Less authentic than I was looking for and poor presentation. The fresh burrata was delicious, but again presentation was lacking. Specialty drinks were creative and the one I had was delicious. This was definitely worth giving it a second chance. My brother loves this restaurant so we gave it try. No frills open seating type place with nice decor. Not keen on ala carte restaurants but ... Service was prompt and cordial, waitperson made sure we knew the specials. We shared the Tuscan bean appetize which was very tasty and panchetta gave it a nice twist. Shared a house salad which was ok. I had CC chicken and sausage scarpariello. It was excellent. Plenty of meat and parparelle and sauce was tasty. My wife had a banzino fish special and she said it was great. Plenty of parking, food was super, thought it was a bit pricey but prices are up in all restaurants so just don't go out as often now. Atmosphere is always wonderful. We visited on Valentine’s Day and found it was crowded and the kitchen was overwhelmed. Our app was cold on the inside. Our waitress made it right for us. Our entrees were perfect. We love Matto and can’t wait for our next time. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Had dined here with friends before and thought it would be the perfect place to celebrate special occasion with family. We made reservation weeks in advance and called the day of to confirm. When we got there, they did not have a table for us. No reservation to be found. After awkwardly standing in the doorway for 10 minutes, they cleared a space for us in front of the kitchen. Quite embarrassing as we had guests from other states drive into dine with us. I would not have wanted to sit so close to the kitchen. Hard to hold a conversation as we heard glasses breaking and silverware dropping Luckily, the waitstaff was super friendly and apologetic. The delicious food and stiff drinks made up for the wait. Would highly recommend the whipped ricotta with honey and pistachio (ask for extra bread chips) and the chicken scarpariello. It is spicy, but who doesn't like a little spice?
