Walked into a most unimpressive atmosphere. The interior smelled more like cleaner than any food. The booth we were sat at was so uncomfortable. It rocked continually from side to side everytime you moved. I noticed it was moving even when we weren't...so I figured out, it even moves when the party behind us moves. Ugggh. There's a large counter opposite to our seating... filled with boxes. (see pics). Why? There was absolutely no ambience. As we await our food, I anxiously anticipate being able to raise my rating. (I'll keep you posted...) OK, food came. It was good. All of us would rate our food 4 out of 5 stars. Since food is, of course, the most important aspect, I will weight the food more heavily and bring the overall to 3 stars. Note to management: this place could be much better. You need a fresh pair of eyes to identify what impression you're creating. I'm thinking there was no mgmt on the Sunday I went. It was evident. I will visit again one day and hope to increase my rating and update my review. I want good things for this restaurant.

First time dining in and I really enjoyed The Experience. My waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. The food was fresh, hot and flavorful. The portion size was great also. I will be a regular here.

Ordered takeout from here and was beyond disappointed. I recommend going elsewhere for Mexican food unless you're into paying $16+ per entree to receive a burrito the size of a taco bell soft taco along with a ton of rice and beans. Walked in at 750 (didn't notice note stating closing early on door) manager (maybe owner 🤔) let me and my husband know that she was closing at 8 due to her having a migraine ... but still offered us a chance to get our order to go, made me so happy! I'm pretty sure at that point the grills had been cleaned, food put away, etc. (the place was spotless basically) but manager/owner assured us it was no problem. Our food was ready in less than 10 minutes and was DELICIOUS! We'll definitely be back to enjoy the atmosphere! I've always liked this place for the food and drink specials. But after not going there for a while I went back last week and it's even better! There is new Management now, new drink specials, and more help. It's like they kept everything good about the place and made a ton of improvements and all the areas they needed to! I tried Mata's for the first time. I think I had high expectations. I ordered the chimichanga, which you can choose with beef or chicken. I ordered it with chicken. The food was "good". It wasn't great and it wasn't terrible. Just "good". I ordered during lunch hours and I paid the lunch price, which I think is a good value for the food I received. I have other Mexican restaurants in town that I like better, so I'm not sure I'll return to Mata's. But I wish them well.

Really cool Mexican spot right beside downtown Spartanburg, the food is amazing everything taste perfect every-time I come in. The staff is friendly and cool. I highly recommend getting Anna as your server she is funny nice and will take great care of you.

First of all, the place smelled nice and clean when we walked in. Chips were fresh and crispy. The silverware was shiny and looked brand new. Food was good, although I’ll probably try something lighter and more nutritious next time. I ordered the ACP while my husband had Tiny’s Burrito (which is not tiny at all).
