Had a nice breakfast while visiting my son at college. The place was packed when we arrived and there was a line out the door when we left. The staff really works hard and hustles to attend to the customers. Jennifer our waitress was terrific. Coffee was super hot, but good. We ordered Eggs Benedict Florentine, short stack of pancakes and the 2 eggs your way breakfast. Everything was good and prices were reasonable . Oh and bathroom was clean! It was busy when we arrived but customers were leaving shortly after. Self-seating was offered, drinks came quickly (that person couldn't take our order even though we were just ordering off the specials board), but we soon learned it was shift change (per our eventual waitress) and to place our order took almost 20 minutes. Food came out in about average time. The stuffed shells were good, fish sandwich was average and a little small. Went to Maria's today. 2/16/24. Been going to this restaurant for over 3 years. Food is good, service is ok. My guest and I sat down at a table in far left side. We were not greeted or acknowledged. At the minimum 10 minutes went by. The empty table next to us was seated and immediately received menus and a greeting. I decided to go to the counter and ask for menus. I saw a menu on the counter and took it. As I was walking away, the man (owners son Joey) at the check out counter said in a loud voice, demanding that I return the menu. I turned around and brought the menu back . He told me to return to my table and someone would bring me a menu. I mentioned that I had been waiting 10 minutes and please give me a menu. He said if I didn't like the service he would come around the counter and throw me out. The man said he was the owner and to get out and started yelling and threatening me. He then came out from the counter and raised his fist and threatened me again. His mother Maria stepped between us and made him go back behind the counter. This is what happens when you promote the dishwasher to cashier/manager because they are family. Bad for business all the way around. Maria has done a great job with her restaurant and this guy is well on the way to ruining her good reputation. Can't recommend going to Maria's when this person is working. Under these conditions maybe skip them entirely. One more thing, I am a senior. Don't think this employee was even 30 years old. Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

One of the best breakfast diners around. We ordered the garlic bread, the cinnamon swirl pancake, blueberry pancake, French toast (short stack was small recommend getting the tall stack of that's all your having), corned beef hash, and home fries extra crispy. It was all very tasty. Service was attentive and you could see they were busting to attend to all customers. The effort is much appreciated. The wait was a little long, but good food takes time. Would stop by again. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Cinnamon Roll Hotcakes

Cute little place for brunch. They have a good ambience. Loved the Christmas decorations and the whole holiday season vibe in there. We ordered a traditional French toast, Italian toast and coffee. The food was great and we got multiple coffee refills. Best choice for a lazy Sunday brunch. Best Eggs Benny in town! I eat breakfast here often and can't bring myself to order anything else. They have Eggs Benedict with Ham and Eggs Benedict Florentine with tomato and spinach. I order mine with all...ham, spinach & tomato. Homefries with a side of brown gravy, a must on the side! Warm, casual place to meet family & friends. Always a fun time and a great meal. Went here on lunch today and was choosing between Whacko Gringo and choose Maria's because it's inside and I figured it would be warm. EVERYONE was wearing their winter coat and hat...no heat, or at least it was not on while we were there. Taco soup was not good but the club sandwich was. Turn the heat on and add a lot of seasoning to the soup and I'll give it another try. I'll revise this next time I stop in, assuming it's changed.
