I honestly don't understand the hype about the pastries here. We ordered 6 different pastries which cost 10€ but all of them had the same base like some sweet agar at the bottom. Only the top is slightly different, some with some crushed almonds, others with dried coconut. Also, the bolo de arroz has nothing to do with rice. It was just a simple sponge cake. We were disappointed and the pastries were expensive for the small size and ordinary quality. We would not recommend. Price per person €5–10 Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4
A Viana Classic ! The Berliner ball hours are at 11:30 and 16:30.

Best bola de Berlin I have had in Portugal. There is hours to get them fresh and after 16hrs is difficult to get them. 11-16 are the time they make them. The filling is still warm and the cinnamon sugar on top are the best. Not to oily compared with others.

Best "Bolas de Berlim" (Berliner) in the world! Mandatory stop in the north Portugal.
Bad organization that lead to long waiting lines. And they didn't even have the famous "Bolas de Berlim". We ended up trying "Sidónio" and "Frigideira de Carne" which were pretty good. Tip: ask if they have Bola de Berlim before waiting 30min in the line!

Wasn't quite sure what we got in line for but when the line is 40 deep at a pastry shop you know their doing something right. Took 30 min to get to the counter but it was worth every second. This little hot deliciousness is a must. We made the mistake of ordering two, for two people.....go ahead order more, you won't be sorry!
Definitely different from the ones you get on other regular patisseries. The filling is a different recipe and the outside is covered in sugar as well as cinnamon. Worth trying.
Cakes were pretty dry, no fresh drinks, doesn't reach the standard of other breakfasts we had in Portugal.
