Manna Japanese Comfort Food is the definition of a hidden gem. It has easily become my favorite Japanese restaurant in Salem. The food is high quality, the portions are large and the prices are great. I typically get the sushi burrito, but lately we have been trying new things. The poke bowls are delicious but the sushi burrito is still my fav. The owners are very nice people and the service is always great. Highly recommend!! We really enjoyed this little gem of a restaurant. There’s limited seating, but they were pretty empty when we visited. We ordered the special with soup and tempura shrimp, tonkatsu and Takoyaki. Everything was good. The curry was especially good. It was thick and had a fantastic depth of flavor. The pork cutlet was also thick, much thicker than I’ve seen in any other local restaurants. The soup was delicious, and the octopus balls were creamy and crispy. I would definitely visit this restaurant again, and possibly take my friends there. My only complaint was the very loud religious music playing in the background. The lady who rang us up and brought our food, was very friendly and the restaurant was clean.
