Bread was good, pasta was al dented not mushy. Two pasta dishes at our table had too much sauce! But not the orrechiete with broccoli rabe & sausage . It was tasty & had a perfect amount of ingredients. Salad was served with entrees. Decor is a little dated, but place was full on a Saturday night. Worth a visit! Came here for dinner one night, and have to say that I was very impressed with the food. It’s very unassuming given its location tucked away in a mini mall. The pasta is amazing and very fresh. Service is very friendly - they brought food in a timely manner. Atmosphere was nice - it’s straddled between being a casual and fancy Italian restaurant. Outdoor seating got a little bit noisy towards the end of the evening. I wish I took photos of all the food. But everything came out hot and fresh, absolutely delicious. There's a nice private room in the back for larger groups. It got really hot at some point in there, understandable for the amount of people. There are high chairs for little ones. Unfortunately, no changing tables for them though. Mamma Assunta is our "special occasion" Italian Restaurant! Delicious food, daily specials, attentive service and cozy atmosphere all lead to a great experience every time. We brought friends here from Wyoming to demonstrate to them what a real New York Italian restaurant is! They'd never experienced anything like it. This is one of the rare places where I've found Cannelloni on the regular menu and of course, it is delicious. Try the endive and pear salad with its bright lemony dressing, or the linguine with clams, which my companion said were the best he'd had in many, many years. Portions are generous and if I attempt having a primi and a secondi, I roll right out of there. Great for leftovers or sharing the primi. Desserts are wonderful, too, so do keep that in mind when ordering ... Just remember that you need to look a little bit for Mamma Assunta. The plaza is up a few stairs, and the restaurant is at the back of the plaza, so it's not easy to see from the street. Very well worth the little bit of effort, though.

I normally don’t write reviews but I feel I need to. We had an 8 person family dinner last night at 6:30pm. The service was terrible and the food was mediocre. We sat down at 6:30, didn’t get a drink until 7:15pm and our apps didn’t come out until 8pm and dinner until around 9pm. Two people ordered steaks and they both said it was dry - like eating a sneaker. The meatballs were dry and tasteless. Our waiter essentially forgot about us - didn’t even refill our waters or ask us for more drinks. 3 hours into the dinner I had to get up and find him to tell him that the dinner was taking forever - he laughed in my face. Overall, it was close to a 3 half hour extremely expensive dinner for mediocre food and horrible service. First and last time here. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner

I was there for an after funeral lunch. It started with antipasto, portions were very small, cold cuts razor thin and cut in quarters. Then fried calamari "family style" good then salad...good then pasta again small portion but good. Next main course I had the chicken franchise small portion nothing to brag about, just ok. Excellent service, and food. Been here numerous times. Have enjoyed Burrata, tricolor salad, cannelloni, many other dishes. Leave room for dessert.
