About
Both St. Michael's Catholic Church and Magnolia House are recommended for visiting. Cajun and Creole cuisines under the direction of the popular chef are great here. Come here for tasty grilled bacon, crab cakes and shrimp scampi if you are hungry. Nothing can be better than eating good beignets, crème brûlée and butter cakes. Come to this steakhouse for delicious martinis, wine or liqueur. As a number of guests say, chocolate frappe is really great. The cosy atmosphere of Magnolia House makes visitors feel relaxed and have a good time. The patient staff reflects the style and character of this place. Prompt service is something that people note in their comments. You will pay democratic prices for your meal. The homey decor is worth checking out. Let's start off with the service. My wife and I went to the restaurant at around 5:30 pm and there were not a lot of people there but it was extremely slow and the waitress could not recommend anything. Nor did she try and recommend anything. While giving our order(we should have gone with our instincts to just leave), we saw a couple sitting at their table paying their bill and noticed that they didn't pack their food to go(both had about half a steak left). We ordered the, fried green tomatoes, gulf lobster soup, grilled chicken pasta, ribeye, spinach, and garlic smash potatoes. When the food came out (after taken forever), each dish looked amazing. For presentation , I give them an 8 out of 10, but for taste 2 out of 10. Ever thing was bland, no seasoning, and everything also came out below warm but not cold. The spinach was more like a soup of spinach and cream. All an all I would not recommend, the pricing is for fine dining, but you get less than mediocre food. The staff’s service and ambiance saved the day. They and it were perfect. The staff were attentive, accommodating, and very friendly. The ambiance put the biggest smile on my face. I just knew I was in for some delicious food. Well, nothing was good. My NY strip was medium well although I asked for medium. I had our table shaking like a Polaroid picture because the steak was difficult to cut. No S&P or seasoning whatsoever could be smelled or tasted. My husband did the blackened salmon Oscar style - beautifully plated but no flavor at all. The crab meat tasted like fresh air. For $185, we were very disappointed. We were happy to leave aa $36 tip however. We will probably never go back. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $100+
Dinner with our HOST WHO DOES THE MOST the fabulous Melanie! Magnolia house was perfection. A beautiful house salad, medium rare steak made so perfect I couldn’t be happier because nowhere else has ever made my steak right but Magnolia, and a chocolate cake that was out of this world. The husband & I are satisfied. We will always be back Magnolia. Thank y’all for the 5 star experience that was above & beyond. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50
The parking garage was dark and had trash piled up in every small area they could put something. The garage was also too low for my truck, which has s a stock height and suspension it a Tundra, so that was a first for me. Then the food was very bland and pricey for what it was. The server was nice she recommended the seafood pasta so that's what I ordered. My wife had the crab and lobster bisque that looked like water with a little crab meat on top. No flavor or seasonings. The highlight of the night was the good sweet tea, Happy Valentine's day. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

We ordered a fish item to be made with a different sauce that was listed on the menu for a different item, and the chef cooked it exactly as expected. The service was a little slow, it took us awhile to get refills on drinks. Overall, it was good. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
The environment was pleasant. Amy our waitress was pleasant. We ordered the crabmeat dip, it was good by itself but the toasted bread made it taste like there was no crabmeat. My husband’s tomahawk pork chop was a double bone pork chop… it was over cooked. They were out of pork chops so they offered him a ribeye. The ribeye came out under cooked. (They charged us for the ribeye instead of the pork chop) I ordered the red snapper. The topping was dry and over cooked. The snapper was beyond bland! I would recommend you go inside the casino and order a garlic burger from Steak and Shake Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100

My husband and I went for our Anniversary dinner and it was not what we expected. The service was great but the food was lackluster. Ordered the filet medium well and it was definitely rare. The white cheddar potatoes were fabulous but the pork chops, filet, and fried green tomatoes were not worth the extremely high prices!
We checked the menu in the afternoon to plan our dinner. When we arrived they were outof the most basic foods. No filets! No baked potato! Heard a waitress walk by and holler to her coworkers that they ran out of chicken. How ridiculous! Worst meal on my vacation! Spent nearly 300.00. Wasted my time and money! Waffle House has my vote!! I ordered the house salad which was good. I also ordered the filet mignon with a baked potato. The filet mignon was tough and over cooked. I ordered it medium and it came out well done I sent it back and they sent one out still cold in the middle. So all I ate for my dinner was the baked potato. My desert was very good I got the Crane brulee Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100
My wife and I tried shrimp cocktail and sauteed gulf snapper here last week. Both were good but highly overpriced! I’d rate 3.5 stars for food (because of limited menu). The ambience is not great in comparison to the way they advertize. The serving staff was good and professional. As soon as we were seated, a waitor served us nice bread wrapped in a napkin with spreadable butter. Later, we had a couple of servers around us who kept checking for drinks at regular intervals. However, I still think you can get better fine dining experience and food elsewhere at a better cost..
