We had a really nice lunch! Mama Alex was taking care of all the customers by herself, at least when we were there, because we went late in the afternoon. She is very cute and friendly.
We had a huge and tasty iced cappuccino which we can highly recommend. We ordered a green lao curry and a chicken stir fry with many different and fresh vegetables. The food tasted really good, we will come back 👍

We went to the restaurant 3-4 times as it was close to our accommodation. The prices are quite high in my opinion considering the location and comparable food prices in Laos. However, the food is great. We tried many different dishes (western and local) and all were delicious. I can especially recommend the Banana-Oreo Milkshake!
As other people have mentioned though- the waiting time is long. We once waited nearly 2h. So make sure you get there early- just before 6pm and you will have your food relatively quickly before more people arrive

I’ll be very honest about our experience here. The food was covered in ants, some big, some small - but when I say covered there were too many to count. We had both the Laos salad and green curry which tasted good but be careful of the hygiene. I went to speak to the owner about the ants and she just shrugged and said it’s ok it’s safe. I mean if the food is cooked the bacteria is also killed? If you want service go to the kitchen and talk to the lady otherwise you will be left waiting for a very long time!

A relaxed restaurant with typical Lao food and great vegetarian/vegan options. The family running it are absolutely lovely!

Best breakfast in Asia, and we have been traveling 6 weeks! LOVE Ma Ma Alex!! She is just the sweetest woman, and was so thankful for our visit. I had coffee and the Shakshuka (poached eggs, tomato sauce, cheese) which came with a warm toasted baguette, butter and jam. WOW. We also went the night before for dinner and milkshakes and it did not disappoint! So glad we found this place.

A surprisingly good restaurant, quite hard to find and not well advertised, I read the reviews before going in. Many people complain about the waiting time: the grand mother is working alone! Come on guys, if you are in a hurry and wanna get served quickly: go when it's not busy. She does the best she can: and she cooks well, I had the Lao coffee and the farmer's breakfast: simply delicious. She serves the meal with a smile. I'm happy to know people like her. Highly recommended.

Amazing vegetarian options! The owner/chef is a vegetarian herself, and she gave me vegetarian-style laap with mushrooms that mimicked meat texture. She also offers almost every other dish vegetarian if you ask! I paid 55,000 kip for a huge iced latte and my meal. Portion size was perfect!

Fantastic place with great food and amazing warm owner - Mama Alex will make sure you get the best food and service. Food is really delicious and cheap (but quality of food is great). I ordered papaya salad (papaya was already gone but they made me some cucumber salad same style and it was delicious) I have asked for extra spicy one and got some extra chillis on the side. Also Lao sausage was good - served with sticky rice, eggplant dip and fried river weed.

Great food and lovely warm atmosphere, mama Alex is wonderful!! We spent may happy hours here. Service is quite slow as it is popular and only a small team running it so make sure you have enough time to wait. The mango or banana stick rice was delicious.

Perfect place to come for breakfast before a day of touring. The service here is quite slow but this is because the lady, presumably Ma Ma Alex, is the only person cooking and taking orders at that time. It’s worth the wait though as the food is absolutely delicious, and it’s a very hearty start to a day of tours. I ordered the smiling breakfast for 40,000 and my partner ordered the pancakes for 25,000, and they were honestly excellent. So good that we came back the following day! Would absolutely recommend it here, but give yourself plenty of time.
