I had never been to this place before, stopping for the night in Susanville figured I’d get takeout from the place in the same parking lot of my hotel. I called in a to go order. First, I looked at the online menu and I tried to order a veggie melt but the waitress on the phone had no idea what I was talking about even though I went back and looked at real photos of the menu and saw that it is clearly there. I settled for a BLT which had about two slices of tomato on it and one piece of lettuce. all in the middle of the bread. I asked for avocado on the sandwich for more substance and they gave me a SLIVER of avocado on the side. enough for maybe two bites. I also got the soup of the day, a beef barley which entirely lacked flavor. also - 22% being the lowest suggested tip? seriously? it ended up costing me about 30$ and that is ridiculous. My 2 kids and I stopped at Lumberjack on the way home from Reno, like we always do. Debbie was the only waitress at the time. She did a great job. Her trips behind the counter to the tables was well thought out and productive. We have always liked the food and staff at Lumberjack, but today, we liked the food and were impressed by Debbie! (While Debbie was hard at work a man, maybe Gary? Came in and moved two plates from behind the counter to a table, then turned and grumbled about working off the clock. He continued to do so when a customer, who I believe is a regular, asked how he was doing. Him, I was not impressed with. Bad attitude, sour disposition. ) I have "bragged" about our experience to 3 people so far. The food was really good, service was even better!! We arrived. There were several people already set an eating the waitress greeted us kindly and let us know if they only had one cook, and that it would be a little while We patiently waited and placed our orders promptly. We were brought our drinks within 10 to 15 minutes. Our food arrived it was a little less than I was expecting with my BLT sandwich however, it was still good.
