Best restaurant in town! Fabulous food and great atmosphere. Make sure to arrive early to wait for a table because they fill up quickly and allow reservations for 6+ people. The food is always delicious and can accommodate my gluten free and dairy free needs while keeping my family happy too. My son absolutely loves Joan and asks to go there to see her regularly. I would like to see some new additions to the menu but the current menu are classic gems done perfectly. Perfect for a family dinner, date night, friends meetup or any occasion. Service has always been great and attentive. Already looking forward to our next visit. Visiting from out of town and this place was suggested. We've come to enjoy the dining options in the area and this place did not disappoint. The food was excellent, the staff friendly and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere was very relaxing. We worked our way through most of the appetizers, thoroughly enjoyed the entrees, and saved room for dessert. Everything was fantastic, though a seriously great highlight was the Butter Washed Old Fashioned. Whoever came up with this concoction deserves a medal. I highly recommend this place to anyone. My partner and I decided to go out for dinner and drinks for Valentine’s. This was our second experience at Lovechild and we had pretty high expectations as the first visit and food was nothing short of spectacular. We arrived at 4:30pm and there was already a line, but thankfully we were able to be seated right away when they opened at 5pm. We ordered three appetizers, the hamachi crudo, poached pear endive salad, and the triple cooked French fries with horseradish cream. The fish was clean and beautifully sliced. There was a crunchy topping that was not mentioned on the menu, but it was delicious all the same whatever it was. The salad left something to be desired. There were hardly any walnuts to be found and that the beautiful Bohemian Blue sheep’s milk cheese was used so sparingly. Too sparingly. For the fries, if you love wedge potatoes, these were meant for you, but a slight warning on the horseradish cream. It may just completely clean out your senses. Quick side note: the service was immaculate and the server, attentive, and very friendly. For our entrees, we decided to get the Mezze rigatoni and the sautéed trout with warm potato salad. We had ordered the pappardelle last time, so we expected the other pasta dish to be up to par, but it was just a very ordinary dish. It needed more. More pasta, more sauce, some fresh herbs, and served with warm bread. The trout on the other hand was perfection. The capers, the lemon, the sear, and crispy skin. It was a delight to devour that plate. Lastly, disaster, I mean dessert. We decided on the citrus crème brûlée and the Portuguese donuts served with lemon curd. The crème brûlée was and is a classic that included a couple pieces of biscotti on the side. My partner went ahead for the donuts while I enjoyed the custard and tried the lemon curd and that is when things went, well sour. I tried it myself and I completely lost my appetite. It tasted spoiled and unnatural and I was not able to finish dessert. We asked for our server to take the curd away and even though we did not ask, she also took it off our check. Our first experience I rated Lovechild five stars. This time, it was three, so I’m giving four stars between the two. Tonight was our first time to love child!! Wow we totally blown away! Our server Olivia was amazing! She was very knowledgeable and super friendly she had great recommendations. Love the atmosphere and the food was amazing! Presentation was great and the table service was like nothing I have seen in lacrosse. The drink and wine menu were also very impressive. Hands down one of the best experiences I've had dining out. The server was extremely helpful in pointing out some of her favorite dishes. I took her advice and couldn't be happier. The Lamb skewers were great. The flavor was well balanced and there was just the right amount of heat with the harissa. The pappardelle with the gorgonzola cream sauce was recommended, and I cannot tell you how wonderful it was. If you like blue cheese, this dish is a must. The pasta was the perfect texture and the flavor of the gorgonzola was just at the right level to be present but not overpowering. So incredibly pleasant. Finally, I sprung for the "French Toast", which does not do it justice. It was pillowey and just phenomenal. I'd 100% go back whenever I get the chance to be in this town again. The atmosphere is wonderful set in an old building in downtown Lacrosse. The food was outstanding. We had bolonanese, and ravioli. Both were a 10 out of 10. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Ravioli

Worth every second of waiting time. We came on Valentines day (why did we not predict this to have been the busiest day of the year for Lovechild? It's the perfect atmosphere after all!) Words do not do justice to our shared experience here. Come here for food you've never tasted before. Everything surrounding the food is heightened with charm!
