I'm going to be completely honest about things we did and didn't like here. If you're sensitive to a truthful review plz don't read any further. We love to try different places and have been excited to try this place. It's super cute and the menu itself looks great. I love that they offer some vegetarian options, for those that need it. I love seeing places open to people with other dietary needs. I enjoyed my meal but there were definitely some discrepancies with what the menu listed and what actually came with it. Some of the pictures weren't accurate at all. But hey - I guess that can be a common thing. I could look past it. The enchiladas were unlike anything I've ever seen and I've gone to many Mexican restaurants throughout Texas. It was more like a burrito. Came dry with some sprinkled shredded cheese on top with a bowl of what I assume was the enchilada sauce. My almost grown son ate it anyway and enjoyed it. Worth noting tho because it just wasn't a normal enchilada. Also, he chose for queso to be on top but there was no queso aside from the sprinkled shredded kind. The kids Mac and cheese was absolutely dry and looked like it had been sitting for a couple hours. No moisture or that typical ASMR sound you get from Mac and cheese. Still we didn't complain and my daughter dealt with it. Not a biggie. Just worth noting. Then she wanted the flan for dessert which she said was really good. When my son ordered one for himself they were out. Hey, things happen. Totally fine. He picked churros and ice cream instead, happily. She told us they are out of ice cream so he asked what they do have. He chose something else and she came back to state they were out of that as well. We laughed because we had been joking about that happening. He decided to go with the churros anyway. They made the plate look really good. It came with whipped cream and chocolate sauce drizzled. Even included an adorable smile on the plate from chocolate sauce. He was happy and said they were great. Personally, I feel like since it was only half the dessert they could have comped it to half price or something but overall, it's fine. My biggest issue is when I was paying. I gave cash and waited a good bit for the change so I could put together her tip. We had asked for a good bit of stuff and I really wanted to leave a nice tip. The problem is she just didn't bring me the change. She finally comes over and asks if there was anything else we needed making it very, very clear it was assumed the change was hers. You just don't do that!! I don't care if it's a measley dollar, you don't assume anything is yours until it's given to you or you have been told to keep the change. I did not tell her to keep the change. I politely told her yes, the rest of the ticket please. She seemed surprised and went back to get my change. I took back some of what I originally was going to leave, while still leaving a good tip. The more I've thought about it, the more it's bothered me. It's the principle behind it that really upsets me. I can't believe the audacity to assume any of my money/change was hers and then not even apologize for making such a bold assumption. I have no problem leaving a tip so don't get me wrong!! In fact, I was still polite enough to leave more than she assumed was hers so don't think I'm some Karen whining. Again, it's the principle!! For this reason, we will stick with Pueblos and won't be returning. That was just wrong. It's a cute restaurant. I'm torn on 2 stars or 3. Being out of items is understandable. Nothing to get upset over. It's just that last part that ruined it for me. That's not something I find acceptable, personally. I hope this isn't something that continues to happen to others. I could have easily left 1/3 of my ticket as tip or more but not with that behavior. A bit unfortunate. Otherwise, we did enjoy our night out and my meal was good. They were out of beef fajita meat, queso, sour cream, guacamole, tamales, and who knows what else. I ordered the beef fajita chimichanga, but no beef so I church l got fajita chicken. It was supposed to come with guacamole salad, sour cream, and queso on top. I wasn't told they were out of that until I received it. It was bearly fried and was soggy in the middle. My wife got two cheese enchiladas with queso on top, and a chalupa with sour cream on top, after trying to order a tamale and quesadilla that they were out of. Bearly any cheese in the enchiladas and not melted very much, no queso on top, and no sour cream on the chalupa. Flavors were very bland on what we did get. We spoke to the manager to try and get a discount for the items we didn't get that were supposed to be a part of our order. He was very nice and already new it was not a good situation. Instead of just giving us a discount he just didn't change us for anything. To be honest I wouldn't even go back for free food. Have tried this place twice which was one too many! First time I asked why there was no seasoning in the food and was told by the manager "we are from Louisiana and people here can't handle the spice" Second time we took two bites of our food and walked out but only after waiting far too long to waited on and again food was terrible and the service even worse. Taco Bell as bad as it is ,is a much better option... AVOID THIS PLACE... Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4
