My girlfriend and I both came down with food poisoning after eating are final meal in Colombia at this restaurant which effectively ruined our last night together. She was immediately nauseous for the rest of the night, and luck me, I started throwing up on the plane the next morning... It is mind-numbing how a business like this can remain open, someone with lots of money is wasting their investment, let me explain below. We walked into an empty restaurant with the server on her cell-phone not noticing us. She would be on her cellphone and then later a laptop, for the majority of the time we were here. We were sat down and given menus, after 5 minutes we were told there was no chefs to cook the food, and that they were on there way back with food arriving any minute... We should have left then, but my GF and I can be too nice and we gave them the benefit of the doubt. We were asking exactly how long the chefs would be, but the server literally ignored us and kept asking what meal we want instead. It felt like she wanted orders, to guarantee we can't leave. After we ordered, two pastas with "free" wine, their big promotion painted on the face of the restaurant, we waited about 10-15 minutes at the table with no wine, water, bread or anything. Then we saw the chefs show up, and we finally received our wine. The wine, was refrigerated, bad, and about half of a normal pour of wine. At this point, my gf and I were almost just laughing about the experience, so as not to get annoyed or angry about how poorly run the place was and how our last romantic night out was being trashed. We received our cream-sauce based pastas on clear table-ware, which made the pastas look unappealing smeared across the dish, while each pasta came with 3 slices of un-toasted store purchased baguette. No sauce, butter, garlic, or anything on the bread. I finished my meal quickly as I was starving and wanted to find another place to enjoy a nice drink. My girlfriend stopped halfway through here meal and said her pasta sauce tasted weird and had me try it too. Indeed, it tasted sour and we informed the server. After walking to the back, the server told us the chef's us a sour tasting cheese. I don't know whether to believe this, since we were already lied to by the server about the chef's return time. My girlfriend left the rest of here dish, we paid and left. Immediately she felt very tired and nauseous and went to bed as soon as we got back to our hotel. Her stomach was upset all night and the next day, while I got physically sick the next morning, and was bed-ridden the next day, dehydrated, unable to eat and with an aching body from expelling all contents. This service, professionalism, food, and wine are wholly unacceptable by any restaurant standard. "Italian" food in Latin America is generally never comparable to European standards, but even by Latin American standards this place is a disaster. You can tell money has been spent to make the place look nice, but they have clearly skipped on training the servers and chefs in serving and cooking, and maintaining a degree of professionalism. I almost always write positive reviews, but this was my last experience with my girlfriend, capping off our stay in Colombia and was by far the worst restaurant experience in 5 months of travel in Latin America.
Best food experience so far after 5 months in SM. Shared a dish of salmon steak with my girlfriend. A big juicy piece and it came with a delicious salad. Good service. Big ups for The Lord, we will be back!
Mal servicio. Mala comida.
