Good basic foods. No frill, decent food, good service, not too noisy. Consistency. Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast Price per person $10–20 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
Loved this place. Classic family owned business in Connecticut with great tasting food and friendly staff. Kinda smells like your grandma's house since the building is a bit older, and the decor is more aligned with the wood paneled 70s country house. 10/10 place to stop coming back from Bradley Airport or a trip through town. 3/5 atmosphere only because it's literally like eating at your grandma's and some people may or may not like that. For me it's a 5/5 for everything Service Dine in Meal type Brunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3 Recommended dishes Pancakes with Bacon
My wife and I have been visiting The Log House for a year now when we camp up in the area. We love the atmosphere and the food is great! The portions are just right and the gravy and biscuits are the best. Usually it's seat yourself so we say in the big bright room on the right. They have a buffet for special days like Father's day. Make a day of it if your headed out near Barkhamsted, stop for breakfast and visit the little town of Riverton! Enjoy life! Hungry? So were we. We had passed this place a few times on our way to fish the Farmington, and finally decided to stop. SO glad we did. Classic American food. We loved that it felt like we stepped back in time when we walked through the front door. The menu for lunch had so many great options that we were excited to eat there as soon as we read it. The cheese pull on the mozzarella sticks was epic. My mozz stick loving fiancé was so stoked. He said the burger was amazing, also. I got the beer battered fish sandwich, which was fried to astonishing perfection. The crunch was still there even when I spread tartar sauce on it. Their French onion soup was delightful, as well. I love picking the cheese off of the crock, and it was just the right amount. This is our new favorite spot to eat when we go fishing. Love finding places like this! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Truly a Gem. Stopped for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Great food, friendly staff, reasonable prices. When in area will definitely stop again. Very kid friendly. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Fried Clams
This place has been a long time favorite of our family. Great food selections, generous portion sizes, fair prices, friendly staff, never a wait. Docked one star because they no longer offer their awesome buffet, which was really great. Was told on 3/19/2022 this was largely due to staffing issues, but no guarantees it actually ever returns, and this was a big hit item with many members of my family. Still highly recommended!!
It is a nice homely dining experience. My kid and husband loved their steak 😍 and I loved their corned beef with two eggs pepper and onion with cheese. And sides were also very fresh. Service Dine in Meal type Brunch Price per person $50–100

The waitress was very polite. Food was served quickly. The french onion soup and clam chowder was great. I do not recommend the pot roast. It was dry and way overcooked, the mashed potatoes and carrots were both very bland. I couldn't eat more than a few bites. But my husband cut his rodeo burger in half and shared and that was delicious! So all in all my experience was good but I would never order the pot roast again.

This was my first time visiting the Log House that I've heard so much about. The drive to get there was absolutely enjoyable and lovely. The friends we went with are regulars there and the fun banter between the staff and our friends was really nice. It's been a long time since I've been to a restaurant that's so personable the way dining used to be. The environment was clean and rustic at the same time. A blast from the past with the comforts of the present. Good old American comfort food that is just exactly what you need sometimes. Made me think of my paternal grandma's mashed potatoes and gravy on a Sunday evening. The staff was great! I got a pic of the old phone both outside for my kids who have no idea what that is. What a fun experience!

Did I step back in time going here....Fast, Fresh, comfort food at a reasonable price. Great selection, easy to read menue, daily specials, friendly staff, large tables and the warmth of the environment decorated in wood had us hanging out longer and enjoying the conversation with friends.
