That's a good idea to order nicely cooked fried catfish, pork chops and ribs. Nothing can be better than tasting good banana pudding, cheesecakes and pound cakes. Get your meal started with delicious liqueur. You will appreciate great fruit tea at this restaurant. The nice atmosphere has been noted by the clients. Based on the guests' feedback on Google, Lillie Bells deserved 4.3.

My food was horrible. This was my first time trying and words cannot explain. I just don’t understand. My Mac n Cheese, Dressing tastes like I don’t know what. The Chops had something brown under the gravy. It was just really bad….. I just knew it would be good. I will no longer buy soul food. I will be cooking it at home. I just so happened to find this place via Google and was hoping this place was still in service and sure enough it was. The staff was friendly and pleasant. My food was fresh and very yummy. The wait was like 25 minutes, but I'm willing to wait for fresh cooked food. If you're a foodie like me; especially with wanting non creamy Mac and cheese, this place is it. I ordered the catfish dinner with Mac and cheese and yams. I also ordered a veggie plate that I'll indulge in tomorrow which included collard greens, candied yams, baked beans and Mac and cheese. I’ve been wanting to try this place for awhile now, especially after going next door to Unique lady and seeing a line wrapped around the corner bc they were giving away free dinners to the public. I overheard someone say their food was so good, so I decided to take a 30 minute drive to give this place a try. I got the pork dinner with mac and cheese and yams and it wasn’t great at all. My husband got the lamb chops with shrimp dinner with spaghetti and collard greens and the collard greens were actually good, but everything else not so much. For dessert we tried the banana pudding and peach cobbler and the banana pudding is just instant pudding with whipped and nilla wafers, when I think of soul food I would’ve thought it would’ve been homemade. The peach cobbler taste like it had no sugar in it and it was just no flavor. Being from the Windy City I have tasted some melt in your mouth soul food and this ain’t it. I went on Sunday afternoon around 5. The line was pretty long, but moving ok. While in line, they were announcing all the food they were running out of. Once I got to the register to order, the cashier claimed she couldn't hear me, although we were really close to each other. She then asked to see my ID(paid with card) but had not asked others in front of me to see their ID that paid with cards. I ordered the veggie platter with 2 mac n cheese & 2 collard greens. The total was $16.96, and I immediately received my order. On my 10-minute ride home, I kept smelling vinegar and was getting nervous. Sure enough, the greens were doused in vinegar. The mac n cheese looked delicious but lacked seasonings. The cornbread was straight Jiffy. I don't understand the hype. Lillie Bell`s is an awesome place to partake of Soul food. I've tried a few others however this family owned business has been a Blessing to me. The food is ALWAYS fresh, prepared to perfection. 🥰My favorite dishes are....Well it's hard to choose. Visit them, you will not be disappointed. For my dinner this was very filling and satisfying to the palette. A little pricey, but due to food inflation all over the nation, the cost was not surprising. I will return again. I’ve been here quite a few times and the food was ok. Today was a different experience, I ordered a fried chicken wing dinner and was told it would be 30 minutes. After 40 minutes I approached the counter to inquire about my order. “ just a few more minutes” I was told. Finally got my order but I always check it. Why was the chicken burnt! I took it to the counter to show them. And said “ I didn’t pay $17 for burnt chicken”. He said“ do you want me to cook you some more” what! And wait another 45 minutes? NO THANKS! My first time here and the food was really good. We ordered a couple of dinners and a vegetable plate. I don't think any of our sides were bad. It's all seasoned well and has great taste. The only gripe I have is the bbq wings. I assumed they would be actually from a grill and not baked. I should've asked, so that's on me. I will be returning! The staff is wonderful! They are all extremely pleasant and give great customer service. The food is really, really good. Very well seasoned and tasty.
