Always Enjoy us some Leatha's and love running into people who actually have met her and the stories. Great BBQ in the state and one you have to try.
And the new menu they are working on sounds amazing featuring and promoting local businesses.

I ordered 2 of the "smoked" half chickens. I got 4 thigh and leg quarters. Technically 2 quarters do make a half, but 2 thighs dont make an actual half chicken cut especially if you are looking for the light and dark meat. The chicken was dry, overcooked, and beyond drenched in sauce. This is likely meant to cover the fact that the chicken is baked, or atleast tastes like it, with no actual flavor especially considering the sauce overkill. The sauce itself, that I ordered extra of to try and did not get, taste like ketchup and sugar with no spice, acids, or herbs whatsoever. I have had better everything out of gas stations or my own kitchen by far. I had never eaten at Leatha's BBQ and likely never will again. My experience stands only for what I ordered, but what I ordered is what I use to judge BBQ by. Barbeque needs to be removed from the name and replaced by CLOSED. There is no pitt master here.

My wife and I went there about 11:30. There was no one in the place, but there were a couple of drive through vehicles. The place was neat and clean. The service was good. Order at the counter and it was served at the table in Styrofoam boxes with plastic forks. I wanted cole slaw as one of my sides, but there was none. When it is the beginning of the day for a restaurant with few sides on the menu, they should all be there to be ordered. None were that exotic. The potato salad was as good as I ever had anywhere in a restaurant. Most of the time it is not worth eating. This was uniquely excellent. The fries were various sizes. The larger pieces were under cooked. Overall, the fries were poor. The ribs were very good. The ribs were as good as I have had, but not really better than the best in my experience. My favorite drink, Coke Zero, was not available there, only Diet Coke and a few other sugar based choices. We took water. It was a generally good experience, except for the fries and soft drink selection.
The pulled pork was dry and in flavorful and the ribs were over cooked and sopping wet they didn’t even pull the membrane off the back of the ribs before cooking them and they are way over priced!

Food is good but service is extremely slow. I literally had to wait 50 minutes to get one plate of the 3 plates I ordered. It was a total of 1 hour to get my complete order. No apologies or anything for getting the order wrong or taking so long. I at least expected an apology for waiting an hour and spending almost 64 dollars at their establishment. Oh I forgot to say that there was only one car ahead of me and one table of customers inside who was already eating.

Best BBQ Chicken I've ever had. The Candied Yams was a whole experience! Everything was great! The employees were the sweetest! 100% would recommend!

Disgusting is an understatement!!! The setup is ridiculous and completely impractical for customers! The wait time for pre-cooked food was LUDICROUS!! The food was over priced and absolutely terrible!! My pulled pork sandwich was pulled fat smothered in disgustingly sweet sauce!! GROSS GROSS GROSS!!
OMG!!! The food AMAZING! I know their specialty is BBQ but I wanted to try the steak because of the reviews. So, we had the steaks for our entrees which were perfectly cooked to our liking. They were tender and juicy with the right amount of seasoning. We also got some barbecue plates to go for dinner the next day but of course we had to get a taste before putting them in the fridge and the ribs are phenomenal also. The sides are made fresh everyday. So fresh that we had to wait for them to make our potato salad. If you're in the Hattiesburg area just stop by. The people are friendly and the food is good.
So disappointed. I've been looking forward to visiting Leatha's for the past year and it just isn't good. I've seen them on a couple different tv shows and normally that means the food is legit. Maybe they've just gone downhill? I dunno. The 4.5 rating they have on Google must be based on their past because what we had today was bad.
Cole slaw and potato salad are decent. No real complaints there. The cole slaw is mustard based and may not be for everyone, but it isn't bad at all. The ribs were just...meh. Absolutely slathered in BBQ sauce that is very, very sweet. I'm guessing brown sugar and molasses and not much else. The ribs were overcooked and devoid of any smoke flavor. Sausage was the worst sausage I've ever had from a BBQ joint. I took one bite and shoved it to the middle of the table. You can get better sausage from WalMart and just throw it in the microwave. It was terrible.
There should've been a lunch rush. There were a total of 3 customers the entire time we were there. There are so many better options in Hattiesburg/Petal.
I was visiting from Birmingham. A friend at the High School Championship recommended this plate. Grab a carry out plate. The food was so good. I surely will be back. :) The meat was so tender ribs and chicken hidden underneath. Definitely a return spot for me on my next visit to Harrisburg.
