A restaurant with a nice view if you are seated at the right table. The food is not cheap, but the quality is good. Friendly staff. This was five stars all the way for us, considering its price level. Surprisingly high quality of the menu. I went for lamb from the grill and was served a perfectly grilled piece of succulent lamb, with side dishes of mashed potatoes, a crisp and delicious salad, and a fluffy bearnaise that was just scrumptious. My wife and kids went for the burgers, and the burgers were really nice, but they were burgers. Do yourself a favour and look beyond the burgers. The service staff were attentive, pleasant and helpful, and would have done perfectly well in an even more upmarket establishment. Exceptionally good value for money at Laponiakåtan. Me and my girlfriend had a wonderful time at Laponiakåtan. Both the appetizers and the main course was super delicious, and we can recommend both the reindeermeat and the halouimi cheese. The fries were a bit too crisp, seemed like they had a minute or two too much in the fryer, but overall it was very good quality and tasted great. A special shoutout to Laetitia who served our table, she was extremely serviceminded, smiling and friendly, we felt very welcomed from the time that we sat down, to when we left.

I'd guess this is something like a bit more laid back version of the fine dining Laponia hotel restaurant on the other side of the street (the word 'kåtan' refers here to the form of the traditional dwellings of the indigenous Sami people in Sweden). Mighty popular during the warm summer days of 2018, close to the lake shore. Good service and the food - even though pricey - was fine. Good (of course black) strong coffee with some crema on top. Most people apparently ordered something 'meaty' from the charcoal grill; I had a burger but my wife ordered a falafel plate. She was asked how she wanted her falafel done(!) and that sure was a first ever. It turned out good though, not bloody :) Great outdoors seating available.

We stayed at he Laponia Hotel in June and after a busy day decided to eat as close to the hotel as possible. This restaurant was a great choice. The food was top-notch. The waitress was super friendly and attentive. Overall a great experience.

Service is abysmal. Don't come here. The food would be worth the wait if it didn't take three hours. Do yourself a favor and go to Old Duck: better service atmosphere, drinks, food etc.
