The man of the house goes out to the sea to catch seafood straight for his wife's cooking pots - fresher it can't be, and fresher than here it never tasted to me. The food at ล้านเรื่องเลbyเจ๊แสง is also nicely arranged, a pleasure to look at, yet without over-cuteness. Friendly and very personal service.
The menu has many items - seafood, fish, but also chicken, in all preparations, every dish has a picture, but only Thai script and no English name. Some menu items are meant for two or more eaters, but solo visitors will be offererd smaller, half price editions. Basic English is spoken.
I also want to recommend the delicate sauces, like the lemon-fish-sauce+X on the “yam”, or the spicy “nam jiim” alongside shrimps - that comes on the side anyway, and even non-spicy eaters should dip into it once.
Here you overlook a little khlong with the sea further behind, from rambling furniture, most sheltered from the elements, some open to the stars. There is also a separate khlongside dining sala with wood floor seating.
Sunday may be their busy day. For several weekday lunches there I was mostly alone.
The place is not “Bangkok chic” nor “Bangkok aloof” nor does it try to be “cute-cute-narak-narak with 125 selfie-corners” like a Thai coffee shop (including the nearby Café Fishery with its vintage motorcycles, typewriters, suitcases and a coffee house piano playlist). Also it doesn't try to attract the bourgeois Western tourists on this coast.
No, ล้านเรื่องเลbyเจ๊แสง has its own rustic, authentic coziness like a country “khrua” (kitchen). They don't bend over to please Western or Bangkok expectations - even if in true “khrua” style they don't serve any coffee; for your postprandial caffeine top-up move your full tummy to one of several coffee fountains nearby.
When they knew it was the last of my 4 visits, there may have been a misunderstanding. I ordered two dishes. When I had finished, a third small dish appeared which I took to be a goodbye greeting from the kitchen. But later it appeared with a separate price on the bill.

ร้านลับในท้องถิ่น มาร้านนี้ได้กินปูเป็น(เจ้าของเป็นคนท้องถิ่นจะสามารถหาวัตถุดิบเป็นๆใหม่ๆจากเรือประมงท้องถิ่นได้) จะนึ่งหรือผัดผงกะหรี่ ก็ได้ เมนูกุ้งย่างวันนี้เนื้อหวาน เด้ง ดีมาก ข้าวผัดปูหอมกระทะ ปูเป็นก้อนๆ ถ้ามาหลายคน แนะนำให้จองโต๊ะเลือกอาหารไว้ก่อน ร้านนี้ จุดเด่นคือ สด สะอาด จานใหญ่
