The food is wonderful, the price is reasonable and the most important is the service…… absolutely PERFECT!!!! The waitress here was helpful and kind. She kept smiling and providing her sweet recommendation. She treated every guest in the restaurant as her friend and was nice to the kids. Her name is Abby. She definitely deserves a higher salary. Not easy to hire a staff like her. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person RM 160–180 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

La Veranda offers a delightful taste of Italy with its exceptional service and mouthwatering pasta dishes. The attentive staff creates a welcoming atmosphere, and the pasta's perfect texture and rich flavors make each bite a true culinary experience. A must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic Italian dining adventure. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Visited today (3rd Day of CNY) for lunch. Probably first table for lunch. Ordered 1. Tortellini in Brodo 2. Caprese Salad 3. Ravioli with Salmon 4. Lasagne 5. Pumpkin and Prawn Pizza 6. Calzone 7. Tiramisu 8. Creme Brulee Then the waitress came back to inform Tortellini, Lasagne and Creme Brulee not available. A bit disappointed, but maybe its due to the festive season. Anyways, below are our take on the food that are available. Calprese Salad - Nice and refreshing. The amount of cheese is just nice but a few more pieces of lettuce would be better. 4.5/5 Ravioli - The ravioli is nicely done. The sauce that is paired is just nice to bring out the salmon taste in the ravioli. The best dish for this meal. Kudos to your kitchen team. 5/5 Lasagne (Replaced with Parmigiana) - The Parmigiana a little bit lack in tomato sauce that makes the layering of eggplant a bit dry. Can do with a bit more cheese as well. 3.5/5 Pumpkin and Prawn Pizza - Something that you dont get at any pizza outlet. A refreshing taste from the normal pizza choice. The pumpkin was cooked to nice and smooth texture to accompany the perfectly cooked prawns. Well done. 5/5 Calzone - Filled with generous amount of fillings and baked nicely. 4.5/5 Tiramisu - This will be very subjective. I prefer a stronger Kahlua taste which I can barely taste unless its alcohol free (which to me is just coffee cheese cake). 3/5 Overall, it is a nice lunch except certain dishes which I really wanted to try is not available. Service is good. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person RM 20–40 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

Despite what others had reviewed, both positive and negative, we definitely enjoyed our dinner tonight. From the welcome to the menu recommendations and serving. Abby is just perfect. The food, though would prefer to be less salty are all delicious and enjoyable. I also find the price reasonable. Will be back to try more dishes. Came for their special cheese wheel pasta on our 10th wedding anniversary and it did live up to the hype - cheesy, creamy with a hint of aromatic truffle oil, and the perfectly seasoned braised pulled beef simply elevates the overall taste to perfection! (Even the trainee server’s little faulty performance did not matter anymore.) Mushroom soup is also tasty and full of blended mushroom bits. Seafood platter however is a bit disappointing, normal-sized prawns and sotong tasted great and cooked perfectly but the others tasted rather bland, and mussels weren’t fresh? What’s an Italian cuisine without Tiramisu right? So of course we ordered it as dessert but it was…just not good (Some KK homebakers’ taste much better!). We got the corner slice (it wasn't a delightful cut so I just didn’t bother to snap a photo) and let’s just put it this way: the taste confirmed my instinct that it doesn’t deserve my phone memory lol. Overall a great dining atmosphere with friendly services and would come back to try their pizzas and another round of the cheese wheel pasta again (hoping next time would be served by chef herself 😆) Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person RM 60–80 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Mushroom Soup

The restaurant is so nice, cozy, nice music, great food and the staffs are very professional and friendly. Our little son is so lucky, he gets to make his own pizza with the Chef.😘 I bet all the dishes are great...we will definitely come back again and try other dishes. We will definitely recommend this restaurant and 👍. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person RM 40–60 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Carbonara

Second time here. Both service attended by Abby. She was great and full of knowledge almost everything in the menu. I didn’t think about the menu, just follow her recommendations. Turn out everything is great and delicious. Kudos to the owner having such a great staff. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person RM 20–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
La veranda Real authentic Italian food We visited Sabah on our vacation. We are so glad we have found a piece of Italy in Kota Kinabalu. The food is authentic and the flavor is like back home. Really glad that we stop by there and have it a try. Usually Italian restaurants overseas tend to be more localized. I have to say this is not the case. Not easy to find but I would say it’s an hidden gem. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Terrible Fine Dine Experience Starter: Prawns Tartare on Diced Mango dressed with Citronette Sauce - OK. Soup: Sweet Corn Cream Soup served with Croutons - Tastes like canned corn, not appealing😶‍🌫️ Entree: Black Ink Spaghetti with Clams and Cherry Tomatoes - Flavorless and fishy, lacked salt🤮 Even neighboring diners struggled to finish it. - There was a white hair in the spaghetti🤮🤢🤢 thankfully noticeable. The servers replaced it and apologized. Refreshment: Italian Sorbet - The highlight, thoroughly enjoyed it🤤 Main Dish: Baked Seabass Filet in a Crust of Almond and Herbs - Disappointing👎🏻 Fish was coarse, lacked salt, and the paste was overly carroty. Neighbors shook their heads in agreement. Dessert: Festivity Dessert - Ermmmmm Okay? 🤧Service: Staff seemed mostly part-time and inexperienced. A staff member amusingly asked if I needed a fork for my spaghetti. Had to remind them twice for chili oil, which they forgot. Requested toothpick twice, but they never delivered.
