I wish I could give more stars! My husband and I moved here to be closer to family a couple of years ago and I am the only one in our family that enjoys Mexican Food. Finally got my husband to take me here for an early Valentine's Day meal and I was NOT disappointed. This place is fantastic. It is small but so worth it. We got there at a time when not many people were there and there was only one person doing hostess, server, runner, etc. and he did everything with such professionalism and style. I got cheese enchiladas with rice and beans with a guacamole appetizer, also tried the milk queso dip. Oh man, I love the dip and the freshly made guacamole was the BEST. I am a tough customer when it comes to dining out, I want to be waited on hand and foot (don't we all?), fresh made food that is served hot and cooked correctly and I don't like to have an empty glass. As busy as he was, he never missed a beat. Our food was HOT, cooked to perfection, we never ran out of chips/salsa, and our drinks were never less than 1/2 full. Some places SAY they have good Mexican food, this place actually delivers on this and it is worth every penny. On that note, the prices are great as well. I have nothing negative to say except I can't eat there every day or I would destroy my waistline. Highly recommend you try this out. The atmosphere is great as well. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

20 years of the Best authentic mexican food in Harford county. In the last fifteen years i've gone through the whole menu and never had an item I didn't love. Chicken Tamale areso good on a 🥶 cold day. Margaritas are delicious. And I don't know what's in it but their white sauce smacks put it on everything. Beto is the best and helped me find the gluten-free options they have. Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Fried Ice Cream
So my family and I enjoy this location, for many years with no bad experiences to speak of. I have gone back and read the ⭐ to ⭐⭐⭐ comments. People have opinions and perceptions, understand. My advice is to be open and try places and form your own opinion as we all are different in our likes and expectations. This place is thriving and constantly busy, take that for what it's worth. Advice for the 'Food Critic Reviewer's' who feel a need to give their opinion, may want to consider taking all that money you have spent eating out and will continue to spend and open a restaurant of your liking to impress us, or perhaps go to culinary school and prepare dishes for yourself the way you prefer and like. When I'm in the mood for Mexican food, this La Tolteca is by far the best and well worth the 35 minute drive from home. The food is always made with the freshest ingredients. The salsa's, both the red and white dip, are fantastic. The staff is always extremely friendly and treat us like old friends whenever we go there. The Mexican Pizza and the Shrimp Taco Salad are my favorite dishes. We've also picked up some of the salsa, white dip and chips for when we are having parties. Stopped in yesterday afternoon and ordered the regular fajitas. Asked if they could mix the beef and chicken. Server said yes. Was enjoying the meal until I found a hair in the meat. Mentioned it to the server but didn't make a big deal. The complaint I have is that when the bill came I was upcharged for the fajitas with shrimp because "I had two meats." I asked to speaker to the owner who didn't want to redo the bill. He puts down $2 on the table like he's doing me a favor. Now in my math 19.99 - 17.50 = 2.50. Plus I was charged 75 cents for the mushrooms instead of peppers. Was told they would take 10% off for the hair but that got lost since he didn't redo the check. It was a total confusion. Food is good, but do check your bill folks! Food: 4 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4

It’s always a good night when we pick La Tolteca for dinner. The margaritas are great. Queso, table-side guacamole, tacos, fajitas…it’s all delicious. I tried the Birria tacos and they are a great addition to the menu. Highly recommend for some great Mexican cuisine. Great little Mexican place. Fresh, high quality ingredients. Street tacos with carnitas are my favorite but everything was really good. Super friendly and fast service. Not sure what’s up with the white dip? Lots of other reviewers love it, it’s not really my thing. Luckily the salsa and chips are top notch. Beto is the best server. Very attentive and always takes care of us. Hawaiian fajitas and beef tip taco salad was amazing. The red sauce and white sauce are the best anywhere. Love this place. Had the nachos Supreme tonight. Also the apple pie burrito for dessert. Yummy. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
5 Stars!!! Chips/Salsa and whatever that crazy little white dip is, are addictive! Table side Guacamole to share is a must at this place, and have them load it up, extra jalapeños! Today was a fish taco and shrimp taco kinda day for the entire table! Great for lunch, nice and quick, and top notch service. Minutes from our office, La Tolteca is one of our go to spots for team lunches! Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20
