We had an amazing meal here. One of the standouts (maybe even our favorte) among many great meals in Jose Ignacio. Food was amazing and ambience was great. Highly recommend. Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Fantastic food in a typical setting with great local wines and super service . Ponchos available for those who can be cold .

La Olada is a very laid back restaurant a couple of blocks into La Juanita. Google maps places you perfectly, but it is not well signposted. Look for an orange life ring outside. Once here, you may never want to leave. There is ample outdoor seating for a relaxing evening out, and sufficient indoor seating if the weather is windy or rainy, as can happen on the Uruguayan coast. The menu is pretty basic, but the food is really good! I had pejerry - I would call it a large sardine, but am sure I have it wrong, as it is not oily at all. Here, they grill it and serve with guarnación. For me, this is at the top of the second tier of restaurants in José. There are a few better, to be sure, but not so many, and the ambience here is great! I will come back.

Amazing local cuisine, wait staff and atmosphere. Would definitely recommend. The food portions are very generous. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
It has become a restaurant without a soul. Just the winelist makes a positive difference compared to other restaurants close by. Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 1
La Olanda was excellent. The food, service and ambience are first class! Pricing will look a little high if you are visiting from Argentina, it will look like an incredible deal if you are from New York or San Francisco. For Jose Ignacio I found it to be more reasonable than the other local options for fine dining.
Best dining in punta del Este. Products are sourced locally, fresh from the farm and the sea daily. they have their own herbs and greens garden right by the outside terrace. you can practically choose the arugula for your salad.
From the UK. Visited in 2016. I have travelled all over the world, to many restaurants of all types, but my mind always comes back to this one as the perfect blend of laid back ambience, remote luxury and the best damn parilla I have ever had. The steak here was frankly the best I have ever had, couple that with red wine, fireside ambience and I honestly can't think of a better place to spend a night in beautiful Jose Ignacio.

La Olada is a small restaurant, which felt like you were in someone's home. The place is small and cozy and there is aptio seating with a fireplace and lit trees. So peaceful and quiet. We ate inside because the weather was a bit cool to be outdoors in the evening. Everything runs later in Jose Ignacio and so we ate late. Food is cooked on wood burning oven and hearth. Everything was tasty and top notch.. Good service. In high season, definitely make a reservation or you will be waiting a while.
