Finally Found the Perfect Bacalaito (and More!) in Luquillo! **5 stars, no doubt!** I've been on a lifelong quest for the perfect bacalaito, and believe me, I've tasted my fair share (including those at the Luquillo Kiosks - good, but not quite there). But my search is finally over! This little gem in Luquillo has officially blown me away. Their bacalaito is an absolute masterpiece. Forget all those dark, overcooked, salty versions you've encountered. These bad boys are the golden ideal: **crispy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside, with a perfect light golden color that sings of sunshine and happiness.** One bite, and I was instantly transported back to my childhood on Southern Boulevard, in The Bronx savoring the bacalaito made by the neighborhood's resident "bacalaito king." Talk about nostalgia! **And did I mention they're perfect? Seriously, perfection. ** But the magic doesn't stop there. This little kiosk is **family-owned and oozes warmth and charm.** The woman I spoke with has been there for almost 35 years, carrying on the legacy of her mother-in-law. Hearing their story and feeling their passion for their food made the experience even sweeter. And let's not forget the **alcapuria!** My boyfriend is obsessed with their crab meat version, and I can see why. The filling is generous and flavorful, the shell perfectly crispy. Every bite is a burst of deliciousness. **Here's the kicker:** Not only is the food phenomenal, but the people are incredible. They welcomed me with open arms and made me feel like family. Their **genuine hospitality and friendly service** added the perfect finishing touch to an already perfect experience. **If you're ever in the Luquillo, do yourself a favor and seek out this hidden gem.** It's a must-try for anyone who loves authentic Puerto Rican food, impeccable quality, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. **My highest recommendation!** **P.S.** I forgot the ladies' name, but that just adds to the charm, right? **P.P.S.** Seriously, go get their bacalaito. You won't regret it! **P.P.P.S.** I may have gone overboard with the "perfect"s, but hey, sometimes you just gotta tell it like it is! **Enjoy!** Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Turnover Alcapurias Pastelillos

Absolutely some of the best authentic Puerto Rican food I've ever had and I've been fortunate enough to have been there a dozen times! Everything is made to order, which isn't always the case with pastelillos, alcapurrias, rellenos de papa...etc. Every time we're there we see tons of locals coming to pick up orders to go... another great sign! The land crab (jueyes) empanadas are to die for but try it all! Service Dine in Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
This is the best kiosk you will visit! We have been to Puerto Rico 12 times and every single time it won't be a trip without visiting Sylvia kiosk #8 amazing family amazing food made right in front of your eyes food that will make your grandma cry:) you might look at it and think it doesn't look like much I guarantee you it is so much more then you can imagine.... Best alcapurrias we tried in Puerto Rico! The lobster empanada was phenomenal and so were their homemade hot sauces. The owner was extremely kind. Highly recommend if you're looking for a quick bite of authentic street food. Service Dine in Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This place is a gem of a spot! It's not fancy, but the alcapurrias are my favorite in PR with some of the pique dripped on (its pretty hot). The woman who makes them uses the banana leaf and does it the right way. Always freshly cooked in front of you. Absolutely the best I've had. Everything else is good as well and these are local people making home made food that speaks for itself.
We ate the alcapurrias there with ground beef and another with a seafood mixture. SO good, little greasy FYI don't get dirty (like me!) Otherwise, delicious!

Trunk fish and land crab are incredible here. Their seasoning is more flavorful than the other restaurants in the area. Friendly owners. Looking forward to eating here again the next time I'm in Puerto Rico.
