Kroa has a pleasant atmosphere, although considering it’s fairly dark most of the time in Feb , turning down the lights seems silly. If people have to use phone flashlights to read the menu, something is wrong.
The moose burger tasted good and was surprisingly juicy. The bun however was not strong enough to stand up to the juiciness and fell apart after 2 bites.
The menu offered a “Tom Yum with cod loin” , well that was kind of a disappointment. More like a white Thai curry. No lemongrass , no tomato flavour and only 2 very small portions of cod and I think yogurt as the soup base. When I mentioned this to the waiter, he scoffed and said “the chef is from Thailand so he knows how to make Tom Yum”. Hopefully the chef reads this and realizes he can’t get away with mislabeling items on the menu.

Extremely disappointed.
We wait for our meal 1h- the nice guy who served us said sorry for it. When the food arrived the beef burger was terrible. Chips was overcooked, cold and impossible to stick fork In. Burger was cold. After ask to do something with the meal (after 1h waiting) they change my chips for hot one but still overcooked and impossible to eat. They didn't change the burger so it was still cold. My partner lamb was ok- hot and taesty.
They didn't have a lot of options from the menu- most of drinks was not available and only selected option from the mains.
I'm giving 2* instead of 1* because the person who was serving us was very nice and really they sort out the situation and we didn't pay for this terrible burger

Best restaurant on Svalbard.
Restaurant Kroa has the best food on the island. The service is fast, friendly and efficient. The ambience is pleasant and it is a comfortable setting for relaxing. Everything on the menu tasted very fresh despite Svalbard’s lack of access to fresh ingredients. I would especially recommend the Kroa burger and the lamb chops. Again, Svalbard was the last place on earth I was expecting to have a tasty burger. Lastly, unlike most restaurants on Svalbard the prices are very fair. I appreciate the honesty of this business on an island where many try to take advantage of tourists whom don’t have many options.

We had daal and naan bread which tasted nice. We had margaritas pizza for three continuous days as there was no any halal food option here in Longyearbyen Svalbard. It's Lovely place, ambience is nice

Homemade Moose Burger
I grew up in Chicago on world’s best pizza. After 40+ countries visited, i believe Kroa’s pizza is equal - amazing, different, but on par with Chi town. I truly cant think of a better compliment to write. Service, food, drinks all perfect. Went here three times over 3 or 4 days. I wish i could bring the pizza home. We had pizza #3. Thank you Kroa!! 💕❤️💕

Great interiors, pizzas and staff. There is a huge round table that seats like 20 pax with skylight. That would be a very nice and special dining option for a big group. Possible to make reservations.

Good restaurant with very friendly staff.
The food was good.
The only thing I didn't like was that the whale carpaccio was covered in sauce, so it was almost impossible to get a good taste of the whale.
